"Rooms were clean but didn’t have coffee machine, the staff told us we have to upgrade the room to get coffee machine!! The parking was a very narrow , uphill with a seriously unmanageable curve. Our car got scraped! I will never go back with a car at this hotel ! "

"We stayed for one night at Eurostars Fuerte Ruavieja while travelling through Spain and overall found it to be a very good base for exploring the city. The hotel is in an excellent location, with everything within easy walking distance including bars, restaurants, and the main areas of the old town. It was also straightforward to find when arriving by car, which is always appreciated in older city centres. One of the major positives was the secure hotel parking. Although chargeable, it felt safe and convenient, particularly when travelling with luggage. The hotel also allows easy access for unloading bags before parking. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and fairly well equipped. The bed provided a good night’s sleep and overall the room felt modern and practical. However, we would have appreciated tea and coffee making facilities either in the room or available in a communal area somewhere within the hotel. There were a couple of negatives during our stay. The soundproofing was not particularly strong and conversations from the street below could easily be heard despite the road itself being relatively quiet. We understand that some noise is expected when staying in a city centre, but normal conversations carried more than expected. There was also a noticeable sewage smell in the hallway during our stay. Thankfully this did not extend into our room itself, which remained fresh and comfortable. It may well have been a temporary issue while we were there, but it was"

"We enjoyed our stay at Sercotel Portales. It is in a great location, within a few minutes’ walk to many restaurants, bars and shops. The room was clean, with comfortable bedding, but there was a distinct smell of smoke, particularly in the bathroom, which led us to believe that this may either have been a smoking room (even if we requested non-smoking) or that previous guests ignored the non-smoking directive. Because we could open the window, we were able to “air” out the place, and enjoy it. The bad smell was ultimately a minor inconvenience. We recommend this hotel. "

"This hotel was a good deal more basic that I thought it would be, but the property was clean, the hotel staff & patrons very friendly, which made my stay here delightful. I was booked for 3 nights and soon after arriving thought I'd move, but the friendly staff and very tasty coffee bar treats & brews won me over."
