Good location for expat area. Provide tuk tuk to main road. Busy area plenty of bars and upmarket restaurants. Sadly receptionist surly and not very helpful. OK for 1 maybe 2 nights if laying over in Bangkok. cheap and adequate no more

Very affordable hotel with great location
Have stayed at this hotel for many years. Always reserved Presidential Suite due to the large rooms and economical pricing. Location is perfect for business (near BTS Skytrain) and restaurants. Will continue to stay at this hotel for many more years.

Its a thai based punjabi owner hotel
They charge you for everything even for a pillow @ 50 tbh =100 inr. It seems to have two attached building, one meant to keep high end customers esp the white foreigners and the other meant for sub continent people, eg Indian esp. I paid inr 1700 plus for my stay including breakfast. My experience is so so Not so good Not so bad.

TukTuk to Nana was great staff brilliant
Room excellent never been in such large facilities. Hotel itself lacking however was plenty of nearby night life and to be honest Weena and myself are not social animals.

The hotel is situated right at the very end of Soi 8. Rooms are large and comfortable and the desks are very usable. WiFi internet was spotty and could do with a lot of improvement. Avoid the breakfast here and go for breakfast to Kiwi Bar at the beginning of Soi 8.

Avoid
Exposed electrical wiring in rooms, with electrical sockets that spark when inserting a plug. No towels provided, which manager blamed on "we're busy" (they didn;t look very busy to me). So-called 24-hour tuk-tuk service problemmatic, given no tuk-tuk driver; I would have to go to Reception to locate him. Button to summon tuk-tuk at top of soi 8 either not working or driver's walkie-talkie not working. WiFi spotty to non-existent. The swimming pool atop a nearby building is long dead (one of the few prior attractions). Breakfast is best avoided and even dangerous; for example, to retrieve toast, one must insert metal thongs (!) into the toaster. Comparably priced accommodation is available nearby.

I love this hotel
I have stayed in this hotel 3 times this year. I have enjoyed the stay every time and sleep great. The location is nice and best of all quite. I have and will again recommend this hotel to my friend's even my mother. This is not a new fancy hotel this is a hotel with the 50's 60's style the way I like it. The hotel and rooms are spotless. There are no bugs or mice. The internet is good and the water is hot in the shower with great pressure. The sheets are clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast buffet is very very tasty and the food is fresh. Now I feel this is very important, the staff. The staff is the nicest in all of Bangkok I wanted to hug some of them when I left but left a big tip instead, more appropriate. But really all of them from the tuk tuk driver to the housekeeper to the breakfast staff and one lady at the front desk who was exceptionally sweet nice and beautiful inside and out. I hope this helps you to decide to stay at this hotel or not but I already booked for April 12th to the 25th.

I have stayed many times at the Royal Asia. It is a budget hotel which offers good value for money, and is in a good location ( I am very fond of soi 8 ).. The drawback seems to be maintenance of the property. There are frequently failures with the hot water heaters ( I had to change rooms this trip ), and in the past with water not draining from the wash basin ( okay this time ). However, all I all, a decent hotel for the price

Did-the-job hotel not far from Nana station
I decided to book a hotel online to prevent myself from walking from hotel to hotel trying to find the best deal. My stay was only for one night and it was fine, simple but fine. The breakfast buffet was good and was a good start for the day.

Possible unsanitary water
Was a favorite because of price but no longer. They are recycling water bottles with no seals. I do not trust the safety when the refilling water the is not sanitized and no seals. The caps are broken.. These bottles are used. I would not trust the management who skimps on safety.

Stayed here 17 years ago and it it needs an upgrade. Bit too much peeling paint and the shower/bathroom is a little rundown. The free tuk tuk to the main road is helpful. Quiet hotel.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
I booked three rooms and all were disgusting to say the least. Air con stunk of cigarettes and other bad odours. Noisy to the point of could not sleep. Management would not refund money for the second night and did nothing to oblige our request for a different room other than to say all rooms are the same. Avoid this hotel like the plague. Zero stars, shocking. Would not recommend this hotel to a RAT.

Cheap hotel in a good location
This is a cheap hotel for Bangkok and you get what you pay for. I stayed here 20 years ago when it was listed in one of my travel guides. Subsequently, I have stayed here two more times and after each stay have somewhat regretted it. I return because I like the location (which for me is ideal for Bangkok) and it is cheap. However, it is very evident that they haven't improved the facilities in the 20 years since my first stay. Wi-fi is the absolute worst of any hotel I stayed at in all of SE Asia. Their prices don't fluctuate much so their standard price typically beats most other hotels for the area. Other hotels of higher quality, typically have much higher prices in peak travel times, but can have similar prices to Royal Asia Lodge in low season. If this is the case, it is a no brainer to stay at one of them. If in peak season, Royal Asia Lodge may still be an option, but a somewhat reluctant one. I agree with other reviews, it is best for short stays, particularly when flying in and out of Bangkok on your way to somewhere else.

Convenience, comfort and a great value.
An inexpensive accommodation that offers far more than I expected for the price.The Royal Asia Lodge is walking distance to the BTS sky train, and near the end of quiet street. There are some great street food vendors as well as a good assortment of restaurants and bars toward the entrance to the street, along with the ubiquitous 7-11. The hotel has a free tuk tuk service that will take you to the end of the street if you're too tired to walk it, or in a hurry. The breakfast buffet was inexpensive, and made it easy to grab a bite and some coffee before venturing out for the day. The entire staff was very courteous and helpful. My room was made up daily, and kept very clean. I also used the hotel's laundry service and it too was inexpensive and delivered to my room on the same day I dropped it off. I'd recommend this hotel, and wouldn't hesitate to stay there when I'm in Bangkok again.

This is the second time I have stayed here. The standard of rooms is OK. Clean but showing the signs of age. The shower in my room was not great. Temperatures fluctuated between hot and cold. The big difference this time was the lady on reception who I felt was at best indifferent towards me. I would stay here again as it is convenient but only for a short term stop.

We are traveling in a budget so we love this hotel, I think for the price it's really nice, don't expect perfection for under $30. Love the free tuk tuk to the neighborhood bars, food and Rts station. I'd stay here again, spacious

The hotel is basic but clean. Had a couple of issues when I arrived but they were dealt with promptly by the staff. The poor/non existent WiFi was a recurring problem. Overall I would recommend if you are travelling on a tight budget and only for a short stay.

arrived at the royal asia lodge after a long flight.came to check in and according to the the manager only 1 of the 2 rooms booked had been paid for and the second room had been cancelled.i only had a reference number and he only had paper work for one room.atfer 40 minutes of arguging with him i paid a deposit of 1000bht for a second room.he would refund the 1000bht if i could prove that a second room had been booked and paid for.we then looked at a future booking i had made for 13th.1.2017,and he confirmed that only 1 nite had been booked and not 2.after settling my wife and child down to sleep i went out to change money and eat something.after 4 hours sleep i got up at 3am and went out and found a hotel with internet access.i managed to get both bookings printed off and returned to the hotel to show the nite porter.he refunded me the 1000bht and changed the future booking to 2 nites.on checking out at 6.30am the manager was on the scene again.he had found a second sheet of paper showing that the booking had been cancelled.what he did not see was that the booking had been cancelled,but immediatly rebooked and paid for with the addition of 1 child.my wife is thai and she heard him ripping into the nite porter for giving me my 1000bht back.on leaving the hotel i dont think he was totally convinced that we had booked and paid for a second room.over the past 14 years i have stayed at this hotel probably 50 times and never had a problem before like we just encountered.happy days
