H-Residence is a good value for money. It is located in Bangkok, about 7 minutes walk to the nearest bus stop and BTS station-Surasak. The staff were friendly and helpful with anything we needed. The room was cleaned on time and all in all it was a great place to stay and it’s reasonable.

Quiet environment to sleep in and safe. However, I had to change rooms for 2 times because the air cons were leaking and power supply not working. Despite changing to my 3rd room, the water heater is still as cold. Basically, cold showers everyday. Those on budget and fine with it may consider here.

Hotel is completely different from pictures. On arrival they wouldn’t give me change for the taxi driver. The pool was out of order, even though I booked the hotel the same day as arrival I was not notified. Room wasn’t clean at all, bathroom horrible and run down. In the corridor leading to my room some room doors had no handle or locks on, appeared to have been kicked in. I asked for coffee for the kettle in the room but they didn’t supply - you had to buy downstairs at breakfast time only. The hotel is down a back street, first impression on arrival was not good. I wouldn’t book again

Absolutely dreadful
Worst hotel I have stayed in. Do not get fooled by the pictures. They are night and day compared to reality, card system broken , they can not call taxis and are asking you to walk instead . Even the staff told me it was a horrible hotel and they could no longer work there any longer . The downstairs area is the dirtiest place I have seen in BKK. Internet does not work in bedrooms but only in lobby .

Time to renovate , Rude staff, Dirty...No more
Here Should renovate not for rent anymore. This is my 2nd time to stay here but still more disappointed. Missing some facilities. Not working every electricity plug in. I have to charge mobile by power bank instead using plug there. Even I write note to ask for resolve but they ignore it. You should not sales this room or at least should say out of order but you still sales this broken. I stayed many night and I informed staff that I would late check out then she was ok. But infact, when it’s time. 3 people knocked the door to chase me with rudely especially the eldest woman (i think 60 years old up). She spoke loudly and rudely. She said infact if people late over than 12.30 pm . Hotel can charge 500 Bath. She should know that this room and every room should say sorry instead of warn the penalty as my room doesn’t work especially all electricity plug in. You should change room or upgrade room or at least say sorry instead of being rude. No more here. There are many competitors this area with same price but much higher quality than H-Residence.

Not in line standard to Heritage group. There was food putrid in fridge when I arrived first night. It's small one but they can't replace to another. So I can't use fridge as very bad smell and I don't want to want it in my room because smell could transfer to all area in the room. Light was broken many points in a room. Many things are not completed but staff asked if I can stay to survive in this incompleted room! Staffs were not friendly and not coordinated with team for what I asked. Rooms are not clean and smell. I don't recommend.

Not safe and dirty place
Very disappointing hotel even though the price was cheap. I have stayed in cheap rates hotels before but they are still a lot better than H Residence. I walked into a dirty room with insects on my bed, and bathroom with mossy tiles. Asked for change of room, no room is available. Asked for clean bedding and pillow cases, took forever for housekeeping to replace them. Terrible!!! Word of advice to lone travellers and female travellers, please avoid this place because there are no proper street lights to this place. This is because the hotel is located behind small alleys. Not safe to walk in the evening.

The staff were super unhelpful and not friendly. I actually got laughed at by the staff there because my door card wasn't working. Every single day I had at least 3 problems with the room - key not working, the front door lock was broken etc. The pool is under construction so don't expect there to be a lovely view or anything. I really wouldn't recommend giving these guys your money because they certainly don't deserve it. They also overcharged us for the food and there were many other problems. The Wifi doesn't work and the room was filthy too. Go elsewhere!!

time for a revamp
This hotel has progressively deteriorated over the years that I have stayed there. While there seemed to be some attempt at renovations, they were only minimal. My room had numerous broken fixtures and was looking tired and dated. Over the 10 day stay the WiFi only worked once and I was told it only really works in the reception area. The rooftop pool was closed with only minimal notice. To add to this early morning traffic has now been diverted directly outside of the hotel from 7 until 8.30am, parents dropping kids off at school. This has resulted in bumper to bumper traffic, noise and it is difficulty to get out of the Soi for an early morning walk. There are plenty of other better hotels in the Sathorn area that I will stay at in the future.

Always a comfortable stay
This is a well located and comfortable hotel at a very reasonable price. While the rooms could do with a fresh coat of paint they are comfortable and generally well appointed. The pool is a nice feature but it would be even better if they opened the pool bar and removed all the furniture being stored near the pool and obscuring the view. The staff are efficient but not overly friendly. Don't rely on having any reasonable level of wifi. In saying all this I will continue to stay there as it's good value for money.

A very dim, and unwelcoming hotel.
A pretty old hotel. WiFi is down like 1/3 the time, despite having complained about this. Hotel feels unwelcoming, and staffs also don't seem happy working there, thus affecting the service. This seems to be common among many of the Heritage hotels. Layout of room also leaves much to be desired, especially the insertion of the key, where closing and opening the door will hit against the key. Oh, and the room and bathroom is really, really dim, so for those who wish to do some reading, forget about doing so - unless you would like to strain your eyes.

Old, Poor Service, and Rather Dim room
A UNwelcome energy from the hotel as well as the staffs. It is as if the staffs are not happy working there. This seems to apply to a few other hotels under the Heritage group as well. WiFi was spotty, and 1/3 of the time, especially late at night, one would just loose WiFi connection for no apparent reason. Complaints to the reception still did not resolve this issue. Besides being small and poorly designed - opening and closing the door would hit the hotel key, the room, including the bathroom is rather dim, so don't expect to read much in the room. It's also a pretty old hotel - which I don't mind too much, if all the other services were up to satisfaction. Price-wise, and all things considered, I would rate it as a bit expensive, as there are other hotels with this price range, but come with better services and facilities.

Great location in Sathorn
Set back off the main roads of Sathorn this non frills hotel offers comfortable rooms and a roof top pool. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The wifi is infortunately inconsistent. The staff can sometimes be very good and helpful - it depends on who you speak to. The free tuk tuk to sursak bts is helpful. Try to avoid booking with the free breakfast option. There are too many people completing for food and tables at 7.15am. There are many nice breakfast cafes close by.

Well located in Sathorn
This a large and generally well appointed hotel is located in the heart of Sathorn. It is close to schools, local shopping and a short walk to Chong Nonsi BTS. The rooms which are not particularly large, have all ammenities including a large wall mounted tv. The rooms are starting to age and could do with a fresh coat of paint. There is a large buffet breakfast area, which always seems very popular. The rooftop pool is a handy addition that could do with a pop up bar.

Dont do it
This hotel used to be one that i enjoyed staying at because it had a great staff and was very clean. It has been two years almost since i had last been able to stay and was happy to be back. That quickly went away when the clerk was rude, tried to charge us for two keys when we had a reservation for two. The room was unclean with mold all over the bathroom and dirty sheets. When we tried to get towels at the pool (which was also dirty) they kept saying they would bring them but after four requests and nearly an hour and a half wait my friend gave up and went back to the room all wet. As the elevator does not go to the rooftop where the pool is she had fo walk the marble stairs all wet and slupped and hurt herself quite badly and couldnt get up. A member of the staff walked right past her and left her on the ground crying and unable to get up. It was 15 minutes later before i gave up and went to the room and found her on the way. By the time we got to the room we found that someone had entered the room (while they knew we'd been in the pool waiting) and stolen $1500.00. This hotel is part of a new chain of hotels since my last stay and i will never stay here or any of their hotels again. The location was always bad but the service was great so we didnt mind. They now have nothing left to offer but disappointment and injury.

QUIET STAY, but even TAXI couldn't find it
Staff has no English whatsoever (i mean if your room is 416 - you have to say FOUR ONE SIX - three times - so they can note it). Room service involves only towel exchange, no cleaning at all. If you have anything to print - like flight tickets - they will charge you.. 25 Euro Cents per Page - black n white laser printout. Aggressive TAXI man by the entrance of hotel. CONSTANT LACK OF TOILET PAPER !!!! Even reminding at the Reception Desk that there was no room service (towel exchange) and no paper toilet, demanded two attempts and two journeys downstairs to remind them about the problem. NICE BUILDING AND ROOMS BUT COMPLETE LACK OF ABILITIES TO RUN IT WI-FI DOESN'T WORK IN THE ROOM, only in lobby downstairs

Worst hotel I have stayed in Bangkok
I visit Bangkok almost every month and have stayed in more than 20 different hotels. I was trying out this budget hotel but the experience was the worst ever. First of all, location is not only far from anything but it is very difficult to located this hotel. Their tuk tuk service to the main junction is only once in every hour. Calling a taxi will need a minimum wait of 20 mins. There is also a surcharge of 20 baht for calling the taxi. There is no iron or ironing board in the room and I had to wait a day and a half for my clothes to be ironed. Walking back to the hotel at night feels dangerous as the roads were not lighted up. My neighbour was probably a couple from PRC and they were shouting and slamming the doors at 2am. The walls and doors are so thin that you sometimes think the slamming of the door was your own door. The hotel staff are so rude and never attend to matters of concern. There is virtually nothing good about this hotel and I will never recommend it for anyone to stay be it for business or leisure.

Ok Location. 20 Minute walk to Chong Nonsi BTS
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location good although it wasn't close to the main road but behind St Louis Hospital through a couple of back roads. Hotel had its own Tuk Tuk service that could drop you to the main road or Makasan BTS (the nearest) at certain times free of charge. Useful if it is raining. Taxi from Chong Nonsi BTS to the Hotel is approx 45 Baht. Tuk Tuk can be much more so be careful to ask the fare before you get in a Tuk Tuk. Close to Saphan Taksin Pier (1 Stop from Makkasan BTS) where boat services run to Asiatique and Khao San Road. Plenty of Motorcycle Taxi as well. Plenty of local food in the road next to the Hospital, just outside the 7 Eleven. Chong Nonsi one stop on the BTS to Sala Deng. Plenty of Bars and action at night and Shopping Mall. Hotel has a swimming pool on the 9th floor with nice views. Price of the hotel was competitive. Computer available for guest use in the lobby but staff will not print anything for you unless they can email to you. (I know, complicated.) Just ask them to explain it to you. Security is good. Combination safe in the room. Had no problems with that. Just watch the window seals when it rains heavily. And mosquitoes in the lobby. Wi fi has improved since my last visit. Routers can be seen on the ceilings of each corridor. Camera's on each corridor floor as well. Two bottles of complimentary water are delivered to your room by the cleaners every day. I haven't used the room service so i cannot comment. Enjoy.

The hotel is in a small alley about a 15 minutes walk from the Surasak BTS (skytrain) station. Some hotel staff are more friendly than others. Hotel provides free tuk-tuk service to the Surasak BTS but the tuk-tuk is out of service most of the time. The 2 PM check-in time is rather inconvenient and the small swimming pool closes very early (6 PM). There are cheap washing machines very close to the hotel.

First time at this hotel but not to Bangkok
What attracted me to this hotel was the price and its location, having stayed in other hotels in the Sathorn area. While the hotel is advertised as being close to the BTS station, the fact it is not an easy walk if you are carrying heavy bags. The hotel is situated on a soi which is a narrow lane without sidewalks. The fact is that you need to walk about 10 minutes on a couple of sois before reaching the hotel and you need to walk about 5-7 minutes from the BTS station to get to that soi which is located at the 7-eleven store on Sathorn. It is dark at night and the soi is not really lighted up but there are some lights. Generally speaking, it is pretty safe as in most areas of Bangkok. The room itself is good (on the small side but adequate for my needs as a single person). It is true what other travelers who stayed at this hotel say that you can hear conversations from guests at the adjacent rooms. The room is cleaned daily with the changing of the towels and pillow cases but not sheets. I also noticed that during my 3 weeks stay that most guests stayed on average a few days...2-3 or 3-4 days. My recommendation is that the cleaning of the room includes sweeping under the bed or beds at least twice a week as well as cleaning of the windows, both of which I observed were never done. The staff at the H-Residence were pleasant but some clearly lacked a full understanding of English. For example, I asked the girl behind the counter if the post office was open on Saturday and she said no which I found out later not to be true. Overall, it was a very positive experience for me during my long stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a 3 star hotel on a budget and doesn't mind the hotel not being on a main road. I would also recommend that the hotel keep the pool open during the evening hours and to provide restaurant service on the roof deck which would be awesome for guests. On my next trip to Bangkok, I would probably stay at the H-Residence.

Worth the effort to find
After using so many means of transportation to get from Ko Tao to Bangkok, it was a frustrating when H-Residence was hard to find. Even restaurant owners one street away (parallel) did not know how to get there or where it was. There is also a H-Hertiage hotel near by and can get a little confusing. Upon arrive there seemed to be no real bother by the hotel staff that we had been searching for hours . Staff: only some understand english, not very smily but overall ok. While we stayed, there was some malfunctions with the room key (card) but was handled quickly every time. 24 hour front desk is a plus. Room and bed are great. I finally had a comfortable rest in Thailand. TV ok but not many channels, Pool is very nice & clean (salt water). Hours should be extented as it only runs from around 8:30 ish to 6 pm. Breakfast was good. For the price I was really pleased with this hotel. Would definately recommend it. I don't really recommend the taxi service, prices are too high.

Watch out for the staff.
While the rooms seem like they are half finished, they are nice enough and comfortable. The biggest problem with the hotel are the people who run the tours, they will over charge you for everything. Also, do not use the same people and their taxi service, they do not run their taxi with a meter and will charge you triple the regular fare.

A difficult location at BKK especially for BTS
The general experience was only fair. The location was difficult, even taxi drivers have a hard time locating it. Definitely NOT a nice place to be walking around at night! Staff are generally nice! Don't order taxi from their taxi service, go to the counters to order it through them instead (Big difference in prices) Room hygiene should improve for higher comfort level.

The hotel is very comfortable with excellent service. The ONLY gripe I have is its remote location which none of the Taxi drivers know. Lucky I paid attention the first stay here and guided the Taxi drivers to the hotel. Once there they will drive you to the BTS train station any time you are ready and will pick you up when you call them from the station. You can walk about 5 min to a street with local restaurants and 7eleven. I would stay here again if my main hotels of choice are not available. Very good standard for the price. Located 200m from main road, so not for people who can't make the walk, or who don't want to wait for the complimentary tuktuk. Taxis do not pass by outside, and you'll need to give clear directions to any taxi driver who takes you to the hotel - "Sathorn Soi 11", then direct driver to take right turn opposite 7/11 store (a seemingly insignificant street and quite narrow).

we have been travelling throughout SE Asia for 6 weeks and have two more to go. Bangkok has been our hub city between stops and we have been using H-Residence each time. I LOVE their pool and find myself having a hard time leaving it each time. the staff are very nice besides maybe some unhappy ones on the Sunday we checked in but even that wasnt bad. maybe they were just tired so not particularly a Thai welcome that time. they have a tuk tuk that will take you very close to the train every half hour just ask a minute or two ahead of the hour or half hour mark so they know you want it. have one more return this trip, making five total, and will be back!!
