Terrible Experience!
This was our worst experience in Bali. The room itself was relatively clean and had TV and aircon which were bonuses. However this was totally overshadowed by the experience and feel of the hotel. The guest house is down and alley that is often surrounded by groups of men. Both nights we were kept up until 4:30 am by people (likely the same groups) talking and yelling in and around the property. It made us feel unsafe and annoyed at our lack of sleep. We were never offered breakfast even though it was included and there was never anyone around if we needed anything. The last straw was when the owner (who we had never seen) came to us at 8pm on the second night telling us we didn't have a reservation, hadn't paid and he needed his money. We had booked on hotels.com and prepaid. We had also given them our name and hotels.com reservation when we arrived and they hadn't said anything. I brought up my confirmation to show him and explain that we had paid. He was unwilling to listen, said he had no idea what hotels.com was but just needed his money. It was such an awkward situation we ended up paying him for two nights (so we paid twice) and leaving immediately at 8 at night in the dark to find somewhere new to stay. Best decision!
