"The Bookhouse is a wonderful concept! Prioritizing books, making them accessible everywhere, is delightful. There were adventurous and playful touches, including the secret hide-away on the first floor, behind a bookcase. Housing a hotel in a very old house is another terrific choice. The restoration process is clearly in progress; it's understandable that it's a long-term project. Drawbacks were largely fixable. "Desk staff was very polite and quick response time. Room itself had clean sheets and towels, an room itself was clean even if not in the best of shape. The water was the worst I have seen. It smelled of SULFUR and was only a light pressure - took forever to wet short hair. When exiting shower your entire body smelled of sulfur! "

"I had a very disappointing and unacceptable experience with this hotel. I booked through Expedia and received a confirmation for my reservation. When I arrived around 9 PM with my minor child after an overnight flight from Los Angeles, I was told there were no rooms available. Instead of taking responsibility or helping us find a solution, the staff blamed Expedia and claimed they could not contact me because Expedia did not provide my contact information. Crud, dirt in corners of old tile floors (replace). Needs a Bathfitters insert tub. It did have a big brand new TV $375 for 4 nights Under renovation old motel, MacIntosh Inn, to franchise chain Red Roof Inn. About 80% complete."

"We were able to check in earlier than expected, and the staff was very respectful, friendly, and responsive throughout our stay. The room was spotless upon arrival, and we had no issues during our visit. Even though we woke up too late for breakfast, we were still able to get coffee and chocolate milk before checking out, which we appreciated. The checkout process was quick and convenient, and parking was easy as well. Overall, we had a great experience and would gladly stay here again."
