"We had a lovely stay it was very clean and everything you needed apart from a gas cooker. Beatrice was lovely and very welcoming the only thing we was a little uncomfortable with was we felt we was living with her as she was next door and her balcony was right next to ours. It was more a guest room than an apartment with her being next to us. We couldn't relax thinking tv might be to loud, or music not that we have it on loud but we was still worried. White Lion Royal Hotel

"Excellent value for money with large rooms at a realistic price. Staff were pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. Evening meals were typical of a pub meal and breakfast were very good. The bar was amenable with the chance to sit out in the evening sunshine. Beer was a reasonable ok rice and good quality. Good parking to rear and although not secure, the area is quiet and feels safe. There were 15 motorbikes in the car park without incidents of any tampering overnight. The only negative is some plumbing issues relating to showers with it being a very old heritage building but staff are helpful to resolve any concerns. I would stay there again as it is excellent value for tourists want to lay their head."

"This was our third family visit to the Plas yn Dre. The B&B is central to Bala and well situated for visiting the Bala Lake Railway. This visit was to its usual high standards - from easy parking to a comfortable and spacious family room. The facilities are clean and well maintained. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal at the pub and a welcome good night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious and filling, with a good choice available of the menu. The friendly staff were the standout feature of the visit. Would highly recommend and look forward to our next visit."

"A very quirky hotel with plenty of character. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast presented a good choice and the eving menu had a number of choices. Room was a little dated but to be expected in a castle. Peacocks everywhere!! Village centre is very quiet with a number of units closed. Work was taking place on the central mm aren't square so a little unkempt and inaccessible."
