Excellent team who made us feel very welcome. Great dinner and breakfast (normally stressful for a dairy-free and gluten-free person). Excellent service, which was quick but not intrusive and very well informed. A lovely pub in a great location with a superb team working there. Thank you

We had a brilliant stay here for four nights. The staff were very attentive, the food was great and our room was very clean and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely welcoming staff. Great food and service. Room was clean and comfortable. Only mention would be the decor in our room was quite dark which made the room feel smaller than it was.

A nice country pub with adequate facilities. All the food we had was good. Well located for our visit to Highgrove. However the breakfast service was very slow and we had to complain. The staff refunded our breakfast costs as a result.

Great few days …..
First class service provided by management and staff, nothing too much and they clearly enjoy what they do. Restaurant of a good standard, breakfast offer should be reviewed, needs to be more ‘homely’ in keeping with the premises e.g. get some back bacon and grill it. Great place to spend a couple of days but rooms need refurbishment

The fact its a nice building. In a nuvmce area. The food is very poor and overpriced. We had Sunday lunch it was very disapointing. The breakfast bacon was burnt. The kettle in the room was filthy, the tv remote did not work properly, the toilet was very noisy refilling for ages. The bathroom very dated. Window was in disrepair. Loads of wasps in garden so uncompfortable to sit outside. Swearing coming from the kitchen from the chef who didnt look hygenic no apron. Not one nember of staff asked about our food or our stay. They all came across as mates just hanging out, unsure who was in charge.

Rooms Dark. Dirty to the extreme and needs total Renee action to modern standards. Breakfast quality and quantity was very poor also. Only plus was the Manager crystal who was pleasant. The rooms have Paper for the walls and ceilings and No noise proofing. The blind are not long enough on windows so car parking allows people to view inside , it’s just really tired and badly prepared. Needs a DEEP CLEAN & DECORATING

Don’t be fooled by the pretty pictures!
Don’t be fooled by the pictures - the cottage we stayed in was far from 4 star. It was grubby, dated and spartan. In fairness, the landlord said they knew this and they plan to have it renovated. In the meantime, it’s certainly not worth the money and isn’t a pleasant place to stay. Such a shame as the pictures promised so much.

A Fine Weekend
The King's Arms is a modern twist on a good old Inn, by that I mean good rooms, great food and warm hospitality. We stayed for 2 nights and they could not have been more friendly or accommodating and the food we had there was excellent. The room we had was perfectly acceptable and comfortable. A place to visit again...

Please do not be fooled with the positive reviews on here. The positive reviews are regarding the pub and restaurant and not of the accommodation. The pub itself is nice and the food was good, but the accommodation was horrendous. We had booked a one night stay in Bobtail cottage for £230 through hotels.com. The photos online of the cottage are incorrect and these are seen on various websites including Expedia and Pets in Pyjamas. As you can imagine, this in itself was very disappointing, as we were expecting a roll top bath and was instead surprised with an outdated, dirty bathroom with black mould and stains in the shower. This was just the beginning, the cottage had clearly not been renovated for a considerable amount of time. There were wires hanging out of the wall, broken lights, broken blind hanging off the wall, scratched and small holes in the wall everywhere. In the kitchen the bit under the oven was missing (can see this was posted on here in 2014 and still hasn't been fixed!), the roof had clearly been leaking as the ceiling was stained, cobwebs everywhere, the dinning table was very warn and tired, clock not working, shower had bright blue liquid dripping from it into the bath, it had stained the bath and it wouldn't come off. I wouldn't have stepped foot in the bath, but my partner did and his bath was turned blue. I mentioned this to the property on arrival and was told that the landlord would come the next morning to speak about it and they offered us some f
