"Fantastic grand old property, in an amazing location on the Duoro River, brought to life by the very friendly staff. A private wine tasting was organised for us and was a very enjoyable experience. Elsa was great. It was raining a lot while we were there, so did not get to use the pool. The food menu could be improved. You can get here by train from Porto. Ermida station is just down the road."

"We felt welcomed and had a very nice time at the property. Our only qualm was the distance from the main towns in Douro, likely our fault for not researching before our travels. Without a car, you’re very much reliant on taxis which have to drive in from Regua (often taking 20-30 minutes). The staff was very helpful in this case, always happy to help. However, the distance makes for a very unique and gorgeous vantage point directly in the midst of the valley and above the river. The room and shared spaces were clean and well maintained, but were strongly perfumed if you are sensitive to smells. We enjoyed the free breakfast, and felt very much at home."

"We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is very quiet and private, a perfect oasis to return to after a day in the Douro. The property overall is well maintained and clean, and we loved that we were able to stay in one of the cabins with a balcony. The breakfast and snack items offered by the property were delightful, and the nearby towns also had several food options for traditional Portugese fare. When we come back to Portugal, we will definitely be returning for a visit."

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Pinta! And I couldn’t recommend it enough. Ana greeted us both with a hug when checking us in which was a nice welcome! The rooms are clean, nicely appointed, and it felt like a lovely respite after a day of exploring. Definitely a stay more for couples since the nicely sized bathroom is separated by a generous drapery, but it didn’t bother my husband and I, we liked the whimsicalness of the design. Breakfast is delicious and served in the lounge with a plentiful selection. Short walk to restaurants and a pub in the village. And around a 25 minute drive to Pinhão. Highly recommend! It was one of our favorite stays during our travels through Portugal!"
