"The rooms are very basic, clean, comfortable bed, very affordable with restrooms and showers down the hall. If you simply require a place to sleep in the Whyte Ave. neighbourhood, the Commercial is a good option. The historic pub downstairs is a bonus. "Our room needed refurbishment. The two floor lamps each had one of two bulbs missing, and the light over the TV is just a bare bulb with no enclosure (like a wall sconce). The electrical heating in the bathroom had the fins exposed, cracked floor tiling, and discoloration at one corner where the bath tub met the wall. "This motel is in a VERY dangerous area of Edmonton!! We ended up leaving and booking else-where. DO NOT stay here of you have children.. I wouldn't have even stayed if my kids weren't with me. The parking lot and building was surrounded by obviously high/intoxicated groups of ppl. My 13 year old daughter was harassed walking from our car and there is no security- anyone can just walk in!
