The pool is heated and a big part of our stay. The upgrades are appreciated but so glad the original feel of the hotel is still there. "

The bar is good and you can get most any cocktail you you want. Breakfast is good. It's a not a huge menu, but the food is well prepared and served by a staff that cares about making your stay good. The property is vast and the immediate grounds are very well maintained with many activities to interest all-pool, hiking trails, and croquet. The public spaces androoms are well put together while maintaining their historic integrity. Grab a crab cocktail at the in-house bar and have dinner in any of the well appointed dining spaces. A great place to stay before/after a visit to Monticello."
