"Nice stay"

"Property is nice. The setting is rough. The view of the property directly in front of the building is very rough. The back of the hotel is ocean facing and much nicer. The staff was hit or miss. Generally friendly but not consistent. The bathroom light was broken upon check in and I called the front desk immediately. I was told that a maintenance person would come immediately but no one ever did. Housekeeping is very slow and our rooms were cleaned very late in the day right before dinner"

"We really wanted to give a better review. The resort is beautiful! However, the lack of service and sense of urgency when water was leaking into our suite from the suite above definitely changed our minds. The food was good, but not consistent. Service was very slow unless you tipped frequently and in large amounts. There is zero communication between departments so many of our requests fell through the cracks. We will not book this resort again but do plan to return to Jamaica."

"This wasn’t my first stay at GVH, but it will almost certainly be my last. It was my first time staying solo, and the experience fell well below expectations. To give credit, the grounds appear well maintained since Hurricane Melissa. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. For the price I paid for three nights, the WiFi was completely unacceptable. Reliable internet is a basic expectation. I checked with the front desk multiple times and was assured it worked, it didn’t. Only at checkout was I told I’d been given the wrong details the entire time. The response was a casual apology and WiFi details for a “next stay,” which felt insulting. A partial refund would have been far more appropriate. I was also initially placed in a room where the air conditioning didn’t work and had to move. While the new room was close by, this change was not properly updated by the front desk. Therefore, at checkout I was met with looks suggesting I had accessed a room I shouldn’t have. That is not my responsibility. There are no lifts, so I had to call the front desk (using my own phone credit) for help with my luggage. Assistance was given, but it felt like an inconvenience to them. The front desk staff overall were dismissive and unhelpful, making basic interactions frustrating. Breakfast was underwhelming, standard but you could be better. Overall, very disappointing. For the price, I expected much better. Save your money, an Airbnb would likely offer better service and value!!"

"More up date furnitures and the staff to check and make sure everything is working correctly and things that supposed to be in the room are there but the was well respected full"

"My stay was an awesome experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it feel more like a home than a place to stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, with attention to little details that really made a difference. The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready with helpful suggestions and a genuine smile. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable stay. I would absolutely recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone looking for a cozy, personalized getaway."

"The food was great. I had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and I enjoyed the meal. Overall, the staff was friendly, but I did not like the fact that the manager approached me for the bill but did not introduce herself. Also, I had a couple of days without hot water because the hot water heater is solar and it rained for a few days. Nevertheless, the views from the hotel were beautiful. "
