Amazing trip
My trip was very exciting, the hotel was in the heart of the Old City, close to everything, in walking distance. Lots of bars and restaurants around to chose from, and walking distance to the Central Station.

Bed bugs
We left late in the evening. We didn' even sleep there: bed bugs. Some filled with blood from previous hotel guests, some very hungry! Disgusting.

Great choice for a short stay
Great little family run hotel. No frills but great location and perfect for short trips. Simple but nice continental breakfast was just the job to start the day.

The breakfast (and breakfast area) was great. I had chosen on of the budget rooms and that was an apt description. Three single beds, two wicker chairs and a tv - nothing else. Since I spent little time in the room I didn't mind. However the stair leading up to these rooms is extremely narrow and quite steep. Frankly, I would not feel safe trying to get heavy luggage up to the room, or going up and down with small children. Again, this was not an issue for me but be aware.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location. Breakfast is good. Staff is very attentive and helpful. My room had a viewto the Cathedral. The room is small but cozy and clean. This is a hotel to stay in when you want to explore Antwerp.

Antwerp is an amazing place to visit. The postilijohn is right in the heart of the historic centre. You can almost touch the cathedral from the room we stayed in. The breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfy, although I would personally have liked another pillow. It’s central location means you are close to loveky bars, cafes and restaurants without the need to rely on public transport. A great place to stay. You would not be able to stay here if you have mobility problems due to the steep narrow staircase but this quirkiness makes me like it all the more.

I'm happy but there's room for improvement
The welcome to Hotel Postiljon was wonderful! Such a friendly and helpful reception. The hotel was easy to find and so close to everything I could need on this trip. The room itself, was warn and could really do with a refresh. It served its purpose though... but was not totally clean (particularly with a large build-up of mildew in the shower) but despite that, I didn't feel it unsanitary. The cutlery and dishes at breakfast were also not so clean, with food stains still on some I picked up. I booked a private double room with a double bed and there were two single beds in the room.

Smelt like poo
When we checked in thought it would be nice, first stayin Europe. Weren't expecting much from the price we paid but still really disappointed. We arrived and we showered then it did not stop smelling like poop, the toilet leaked... it was a good location but would not recommend unless you're spending one night and had a back up, it smelt bad and guests from the bar downstairs kept us up all night... it was 0454 and they were still pounding on walls and being loud and slamming doors. Antwerp was beautiful but don't recommend staying central if you have more than one day like us. They were renovating and it Also smelt like poop. We tried our best to be positive but absolutely not worth it

Great for couples but not so great for friends.
Loved this hotel. Nice rooms, narrow staircase to the upper floors. There was no door on the bathroom which led to strategic showering and using the toilet when staying here with a friend. Would have been no problem with a partner. A curtain option would even make a big improvement. Unfortunately, we didn't know this when booking. Breakfast was included which was excellent and in a large room. The location of this hotel couldn't be better. We had a front row seat to the Cathedral's carillon Concert.

excellent location, but not for everyone
the location cant be better. it was excelent for my and my wife. clean room, the staff is really helpful. my room has a window to the street, excellent view to the catedral, but really noise until 2 am. we go out a lot so thas wasnt a problem for me

Great Location!
Location, Location, Location. This is your typical small European hotel, but it's in a great spot. Our window looked right at the Cathedral in the center of town and there were two great cafes right next to the hotel. the people at the hotel was friendly and it included a small free breakfast buffet. It's a nice little hotel for the money.

nice hotel for all
hotel is close to all, walk to train station 20 minutes, or subway two stop, next to city hall. breakfast is good, staff is nice and help me to type out flight check in boarding pass, only thing is no elevate, carry on luggage upstair is a problem,you must be enough strong.

Not easy to get to. Cold and uncomfortable room. Hotel staff seemed unsure of our booking and demanded cash even though we booked and asked to pay by card. Cleaning staff tried entering room even though the room had already been cleaned. However the night staff was friendly and nice.

Excellent location with wonderful staff
My friend and I stayed here for one night. Staff was responsive to our needs, and while the room was minimalistic, it did have a sink with nearby toilette and shower. The shower had great pressure and temperature, the toilet small but functional. The location couldn't be beat, as our room looked out onto the Church of our Lady. We would stay here again when visiting Antwerp.

Good value hotel, and great location next to the cathedral. The room was slightly basic and shabby, but the staff could not have been more helpful and kind, which is why I would stay here again in a heart beat. The breakfast was good and there was free internet usage.

Myself and my partner decided to stay here because it was close to the cathedral. It's about a 15 minute walk from the train station but it is a straight forward walk.The area the hotel is in is beautiful.there are plenty of shops,restaurants and bars around it.the only downside to the hotel is that the rooms are very small.most rooms have a shared bathroom and shower meaning they are in the hall cross from the bedroom and they are very small.check out is 11am and if you are late checking out there is a charge.we didn't realise this but the receptionist was very nice and didn't charge us.the hotel is fine for staying one or two nights but any more that that and you would start to feel cramped in the room.

Cute, character-filled hotel next to cathedral
This was a lovely, sweet little hotel, directly beneath the cathedral. My room - a small, crooked double, with stained glass windows over the street cafes, and a shower and toilet room - was comfortable and welcoming. The towels were somewhat threadbare and had a few mascara stains on them when I moved in, but otherwise it was clean. The cafes on the street proved to be lively and loud late into the night, but I was so tired that, with ear plugs, I slept regardless. The bells and glockenspiel were a novelty for one night - possible annoying for longer. The buffet breakfast was fantastic - vast and delicious. And I was welcomed well by all staff. I'd certainly stay here again.

A cold welcome
The location of this small hotel is very central but be aware that the cathedral bells can be a problem when trying to sleep. We had a cold, unfriendly welcome and despite arriving in the morning our room was not ready until after 4 pm. Given a room up many flights of steep stairs, which had no soap, coat hangers or spare pillows.

This is a great value for someone looking for budget accommodations. This hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the central train station and is located directly next to the cathedral. Room was clean and well maintained.

Dirty hotel in a good location
We waited very long time on personnel on reception. We had to pay 20 € if we want bathroom with toilet. But bathroom was not separated by a door from bedroom!!! And When we came (3:00 p. m.) to our hotel the room was not clean. We had to wait on housekeeping.

Location, location, location
I stayed at this hotel, and a few others, while looking for an apartment in Antwerp. It is in a great spot, which is why you would choose this hotel. It faces the cathedral, and the Grote Markt is around the corner. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was available for 10 euros. Free wifi, small rooms, and the street is noisy at night. Other than that, I found similar or better hotels for the same price (and cheaper) when I stayed further away from the city center. One hotel with bigger rooms and complimentary breakfast was only a few more blocks away. I would only stay here if you want the location.
