Lovely Hotel in a great location
A really lovely hotel in a great location close to Hawkshead. Great service from the family running the hotel, and lovely food in the restaurant. We stayed one night with our little dog and he was made very much at home with a truly 'pet friendly' welcome.

Amazing area, slightly quiet than staying in other towns around the lakes. I have an eating intolerance, which the staff were happy to help with adding a fridge into my room for pre-prepared food than I bring which was really helpful. Lovely helpful staff, great parking and all round lovely stay. Would recommend and would come again

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Great breakfast and lovely location Unfortunately charging £10 per dog per night cost an extra £40 for two day stay. We felt this was over priced

Great little find
Great stay and service under the new owners, food/menu was beautiful and rooms were lovely. We were able to bring our dog which is amazing - they have a wide selection of dog food and treats too in reception. Hotel is located a short walk from the Windermere ferry and surrounded by lovely walks. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful stay with a very friendly and helpful staff making things very relaxed. It is a great place to stay with your dogs who also felt welcome and cosy. The rooms are very comfortable and we had a great sleep. The setting is stunning with wonderful views from the room and it is very easy to enjoy walking in the area. The food was lovely with a delicious menu. Overall we had an amazing time. Thank you.

Some great staff & some terrible staff
We stayed for two night. I was told breakfast was included & then told it wasn't on check out & I had to pay £90! First day breakfast was good but next day it was terrible. Also I paid advance for my stay & asked to pay again on check!! I showed my payment on PayPal & it was resolved by contacting Hotels.com about my payment. This second time we stayed at this place & probably the last time because of this experience!!

Great hotel - overpriced breakfast
Great stay, lovely hotel friendly staff & good standard evening meal. Only disappointment was the extra charge for breakfast- after paying £125 for a room for the night I felt an extra £15 per head for breakfast was overpriced- we had a fantastic breakfast at Poppy Red in Hawkeshead instead

Great little place
The food is next level. The area is beautiful with lots of great rides and walks. The room was cosey, little bit of a draft but that’s likely because changing anything in the Lakes requires a lot of permissions, so the Inn had a lot of original features etc.

Absolutely fab place to stay. Family room with kids offers space and intimacy. Room are clean. Very dedicated, lovely and hard working team. Food And service in the restaurant area is lovely . Location of the hotel is perfect for walks/hike and yet close to Windermere centre. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. Well done team Cuckoo hotel

Unfortunately we had a family issue that caused us to leave before fully experiencing the Inn but the time we spent there we found the staff lovely and the rooms perfectly suited, thanks for being super friendly!

Walking break
A really pleasant hotel to stay, all the staff were very friendly and also very helpful. The food and ale were very good, especially the breakfast, although slightly different due to Covid. All precautions taken by the staff and we felt very safe. Lovely beer garden. Great location for walking would recommend.
