It was a nice resort with quality rooms and space for a restful day. I really enjoyed my stay here. The breakfast was nice and full of good healthy food.

Very comfortable resort. The rooms are very spacious. The half board was breakfast buffet and dinner which was a three course meal. Food was excellent. Golfed two days - it was perfect!

Me, my wife and our nine year old son stayed at el Plantio for 12 nights, mainly for golfing. The Apartments are alright, but old and in need of renovation to be honest. We were there ten years ago, and those ten years gone do show. If you come to El Plantio solely for golf and don't expect luxury, then it's a good stay and very price worthy. The golf course is nice and fun to play. Not too challenging for low handicappers (I'm a 1 handicap) though, but enjoyable for all level golfers. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is alright, but not fantastic. The menu is rather short though, so for longer stays I highly recomend a rental car to go into Alicante or Elche for dinner. Or to visit a supermarket and stock up to cook yourselves. Or at least plan to go there by Taxi which costs around €15 - 20 one way to Alicante. The pool area is clean and good for both adults and kids.. For beach and ocean I would recomend going to Playa de San Juan which is a little further, on the other side of Alicante, but totally worth it. To sum it up: - For a golf vacation / getaway = good - Food is alright for snacks, and dining once or twice - If you expect a resort experience - Look elsewhere I can only really recomend el Plantio if you go there for Golf, or for a 1-2 nights stayover.

Lovely spacious apartment, clean and quiet. Excellent food in the bar/restaurant. Couple of things let it down, mainly that there's no kettle so had to boil water on the hob for cups of tea! The ensuite bathroom sliding door was coming away from the runners so wouldn't close properly and the freezer was completely iced up so couldn't be used as the drawers wouldn't open! Main good point was the bed..so comfortable, I didn't want to get out of it! We would stay here again, so convenient for the airport.

Lovely apartments with amazing grounds. Quiet, lovely friendly staff, breakfast was brilliant with lots of choice. Only knocked off a star as unfortunately our showers were not hot or even warm which was strange as the taps in the kitchen went really hot however we asked our friends staying in another apartment and they were also having cold showers. Despite this I would stay again as everything else was 10/10.

I chose this hotel as it was very close to the airport for our final night of our holiday, next time I book I will be making sure we stay longer. The apartment was clean and spacious with a lovely sunny terrace. We loved the pools and the staff were excellent. We didn't want to leave!

Family holiday at a golf resort
The apartments were very generous in size. Other than the pool, gym, football pitch and golf, there is nothing else to do. Wish there was a kids club or evening entertainment. On the whole, it’s not far from Alicante or the airport but not much to do aro7nd the property.

The apartment was functional but basic, no cushions for the sofa or outside chairs. No amenities in the kitchen, salt, pepper, oil etc and very limited kitchenware, not even an ice cube tray. No cleaning products, no washing up liquid, sponge or tea towel, no tablets for the dishwasher or washing machine. The location is remote, so the only options are eat every meal onsite, do a full shop for every household item or drive out 15 minutes. Usually in apartment stays you are provided with the basic necessities to allow you to make use of the facilities. We had an ant issue as well. Lovely setting and would stay again but would come prepared.

Excellent apartment. We wanted somewhere handy for the airport the next morning and decided here rather than a couple of the ‘airport hotels’. So glad we did. Grounds are lovely. It was somewhere I wish we had spent a couple of nights rather than the shorter stay we did.

Room was filthy, clearly not cleaned since previous guests and probably not before that. Thick dirt all over floor, piece of MEAT on floor, food left on bedside table, debris all over sofa, bottles and rubbish on patio, etc etc... Whole place was unclean. We had to check out early in the morning anyway and since the room was so disgusting we just wanted to get out, and as there was a queue at reception (just one staff member there) we did not waste time logging a complaint. Big mistake. I followed up with hotel / Expedia and they refused to take any action or compensation. Hotel also lied to Expedia to avoid us getting any money back, claiming the room was perfectly clean. Avoid this hotel at all costs unless you enjoy a filthy environment.

Lovely scenary and lots of green space. Showers can be hot and cold. Cant use both showers same time Good service in restaurant. Was disappointed reception didnt inform us there was no dinner new years eve! We had booked half board they should inform us when we checked in. We went for dinner at 7pm to be told its closed and that they tried to call us earlier that day when we were out. Not good enough they could have left a note under our door. Also its too late to tell us on the day, all local restaurants were booked up. They should tell you whrn you check in. We had to drive 15 mins away to go get take away on new years eve. Not good

My short stay at Alicante
We chose to stay in this resort and in a word it was excellent. Such beautiful and peaceful settings, plush big complex, large apartment and free parking, all was surpassed by the friendly staff and the good food they offered. This resort is close to airport and the highways. We visited a number of places like Santa Pola and Granada. It is very close to the city of Alicante too. Thanks. We will visit again

Still an excellent hotel and good value although not quite as shiny and new as it was 10 years ago. But the apartments are very spacious and the kitchen is excellent, some appliances don't work very well, the fridge seem to go on and off. But you don't get these in any normal hotel so generally very good. The air-conditioning is amazing, chills you Down to proper cold at night whereas most hotels just take the edge off the heat. The showers don't work very well where I was, barely got beyond a warm water but it was enough.

Horrible service. 2 star hotel at best
Its far from Caliente, so without a car you are stuck. But the service from the hotel is horrible. Not 4 star, 2 star at best. No lights outside or inside, so hard to find your room. Gym is 15 min. walk away, and staff give horrible directions. Gym is old and very dirty. You can't buy anything, so if you are out of a razor or anything, staff won't help and give you an additive. 20 euros each way to Alicante. if you are here for anything but golf, you are really up the creek.

My room is literally covered in semen that was never cleaned up. The toilets have been running the whole time we have been here. It’s dirty and hasn’t been taken care of. The grounds however are gorgeous, wish I had brought a tent.

Perfect for mini break
Had a lovely 4 nights here with family. Pools were great and pretty quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was ok, good selection but cooked eggs, bacon etc was always cold. Lots of fresh fruit and pastries. Had lunch a couple of times, which was ok, but never wanted to stay in the hotel for dinner. Should have another more appealing dinner, not the same breakfast and lunch one. Every night we hot a taxi into Alicante, 10 mins and roughly around €15. Really great town and spoilt for choice for bars and restaurants. Our apartment was really nice, clean and spacious for 5, and great having 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and lounge area. Yes would go back but maybe need a car as it is in the middle of nowhere.

Great apartments!
Apartments are lovely and spacious, also have air con and shutters which we found wonderful! There are 2 pools which were nice and clean. On the downside, there was only 1 restaurant, the golf restaurant is closed permanently and the menu is quite complicated and not great in my opinion. The breakfast has lots of pastries and a lot of choice, not your typical English cooked brekkie though. It also mentions in room massage, this is something they don’t offer. The gym we never managed to find it had a sign and asked at reception but we were still unable to find it. Saying this, we would recommend if you want a break that doesn’t cost the earth.
