The Saxon Inn was a little more than we were looking for, but it's on the Alfred University campus which made it super convenient. It is a nice little inn with a very friendly staff.

Well maintained rooms very comfortable surroundings artwork displayed from the University made for a very pleasant addition to our stay. Felt like a private home in many respects. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area.

Home away from home feeling

Move-In weekend for my freshman daughter at Alfred State. Staying at the Saxon Inn was so nice. The hotel was so close to the school. Very clean accommodation and the staff was extremely personable. Will definitely try to book all my stays here

A refreshing alternative to chain hotels

This was my second time staying at the Saxon Inn, and it did not disappoint! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The place is quaint and clean. I feel like you are stepping out of the rat race when you check in to a nice calm and relaxing environment.

Very quiet, great breakfast, Lovely property and great staff. What I didn't like was EXPEDIA leading me on by asking for my credit card at the time of booking. Silly me, I thought I was paying for my stay, as I seldom use that card, I knew I had enough to pay for the room, and thought that's what I was doing. NOT THE CASE. So I had to scramble at check-in because I owed $482.00 the regular room rate rather than the deal I thought I HAD gotten using Expedia. NOT a happy camper was I. Thank you very much.
