Azalai Hôtel Abidjan

"Great stay for the weekend. Conveniently located. Aircon, wifi, hot water and elevator worked well. The room was quiet, and black out curtains made it easy to sleep well. The breakfast spread was delicious. There were so many options! Great also for vegetarians. Really enjoyed the breakfast. There’s a free airport shuttle that goes multiple times a day. The gym and pool are open 24 hours. The staff spoke English. Don’t hesitate to stay here. It was really comfortable. My one small area for improvement is that I requested an additional towel and had to call back to remind them. But this is small and didn’t affect my stay. I also appreciated the hair dryer in the bathroom."

"It’s a gorgeous property and was spotless. The food was good. The front desk, wait staff and cleaning staff were very professional and helpful. Overall I had a nice stay. It doesn’t get 5 stars because they forgot to pick me up from the airport and only sent the driver when I got outside, found no one waiting for me and called to ask, which took another 45 minutes. Luckily I had a working sim, I speak French and I’m familiar with Abidjan. This could have gone sideways for someone else. Definitely not a good first impression. Also, there don’t seem to be porters? Upon check-in the lovely Lydia at the front desk had to carry my bag up to my room and upon checkout, I brought my bag down and even loaded it into my cab myself. Not quite a 5-star experience - it was nice but missed the mark."
