"The hotel is very central located with so many places within walking distance. The staff was amazing. My husband hurt himself at St. Andrews and they made sure we had ice and checked in on us, even the housekeeping staff."

"We arrived at the hotel at 9 AM knowing we were very early for check in. We left our luggage with the woman at the desk and she helped us find a place nearby to have our laundry done. When we returned around 1:30, our room was ready. As a nice surprise, we were upgraded to a larger room."

"Great location, and is within walking distance to the train station. The room could use some work however. The bathroom door was warped and could not close. The shower sprays out onto the floor. There is a lack of shelf space, and no drawers, so you will live out of your suitcase. Very noisy with the sound of slamming doors and voices from other rooms. The staff were friendly though.

"For this being a 4-star hotel and for the price I paid, it left a lot to be desired. Faux leather furniture had extensive scuff marks. Black mold in the shower area. Found nail clippings on the bedside table. Yellow "gelatinous" gunk inside the mini fridge. Not much of views (I would recommend staying somewhere on Princes Street for spectacular views of the gardes across the street and the Edinburgh Castle). On the positive side, the rooms at the Apex Waterloo are a good size and the location is...

"We enjoyed our stay at The Resident as it was well located to what we had planned and the staff was quite pleasant. However, as far as value - we felt the room to be small for the price paid. We also felt the bathroom tub was quite dangerous to get in and out of — as one had to step very far up and INTO it without a bar to hold or a proper door. The door of the shower also leaked a bit and we didn’t care for that as it required us to be rather mindful.
