"Everything about this other-worldly location makes for a perfect rest day — charming room (hurray for NO TV), a beautiful and quiet location, and a lovely staff. The small gift shop is full of locally curated art and Hawaiiana."

"I did not realise that we were staying in a plantation village, with multiple accommodation. I had made a request for two beds and, as it was a slow time of year, we got two bedrooms. Pahala is a very cute town (and currently the only one with a grocery store as the one in Naalehu was no longer as at 28 Jan 25). The people were also really friendly. The only thing to consider is the roosters. If you want to sleep in - close the windows. We didn't, as the black sand beach was all ours at sunrise,...

"The views were amazing. The hotel was like stepping back in time and was very quaint. Two gift shops offered plenty of volcano-themed souvenirs. The restaurant served an amazingly fresh and delicious buffet breakfast, which we enjoyed while watching the volcano. The omelet chef prepared delicious eggs of your choice right before our eyes. The rooms could use a bit of updating, but they were still lovely!"

"Crater Rim cabin is a nice quiet place that is close to the Volcano National Park. It is a quick drive to get into the park for sightseeing or hiking. The cabin is very comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. We used it as a base of operations for multiple trips into the park. I did some jogging on the road, which does not have a lot of traffic. At the end of the main road is the Volcano Winery, which has some interesting wines to taste. Located about 30 miles from Hilo, sights near there and...

"This was an amazing space to stay. It was refreshing and rejuvenating. The hosts were incredibly helpful and informative about the area. We definitely hope to stay there again in the future!"

"The cottage was fantastic. Had all the amenities. It was in a quiet neighborhood, with a view of a golf course, but easy driving distance to the Volcanoes National Park and the town of Volcano. We were very busy seeing the various attractions of the island, such as waterfalls, the black sand beach and South Point, and hiking in the National Park. We wished we could have spent more time at the cottage. Highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again. "

"No parecía una casa funcional. La habitación de abajo queda muy separada y no tiene baño lo que la hace incómoda. Una sala con TV grande totalmente separada de la cocina comedor que no tiene tv. La casa es rara, muchos recovecos, grande pero no funcional. Provee solo 2 sillas para playa cuando éramos 5. Tampoco tiene bbq grill. Nos pareció cara por lo que realmente es."
