"We had a fantastic stay at the Martinhal in Chiado. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 nights and the accommodation was excellent - very clean, spacious, quiet and great that the bunk beds were in the living space as opposed to the main bedroom. The breakfast was good - not as comprehensive as other hotels I've been too - but enough choice to ensure that everyone was well fed before heading out for a day tackling Lisbon's hills. "Nice stay, booked and paid for two only ended up staying one night . Asked if I could have breakfast taken off for 3 ppl for the following day since we weren't going to be there, but unfortunately they couldnt accomodate such request which was disappointing. Bedroom was clean, the bathroom had an odd smell, like an old mop was used on the floor. No safe information to be able to use, called reception 3 times to ask for someone to attend. Service was great, there were helpful if not a little...

"The hotel is centrally located in a very nice and safe part of Lisbon. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast delicious and available amenities very nice. The only issue we ran into was that the restaurant recommendations from the staff were terrible. Do NOT eat at Gina’s - some of the worst food of the trip."

"A simply fabulous hotel. We were greeted warmly on our arrival and throughout our stay, all staff were smartly presented, courteous and kind. The decor is high quality and beautifully kept. Our room was extremely well presented with impeccable daily service. We enjoyed a room service breakfast on our balcony that was just fantastic . We even tried their relaxing massage service at their Spa. Massage and facial were wonderful. The hotel has a lovely calming atmosphere where nothing is too much...
