"What a great experience we had staying at Azuki-An. Like a place out of time, the machiya even had an incredible aromatic wood scent (Cyprus?) that filled the home. The vaulted roofs with beams carried amazing noise of the pouring rain on the night we arrived making us truly feel like we were in another world. And wow, you could Iive in that bathtub. "The company gave us a lift to the accommodation the first night from their central cafe in Kyoto which was really helpful as if you don't know the area it could be hard to find alone in the evening. The accommodation was very clean and had all the basics you need. It is Japanese style accommodation with futon which suited us well but people not used to this need to check the details. It is a quiet residential area and sound travels between the apartments so not suitable for people who want late...
