"Such a nice hotel! Very convenient location, with free shuttle to the train station (only about 10 minutes away). Staff was very helpful, answering a couple of emails before our trip in a very prompt manner, as well as being helpful while we were staying there. They were able to hold our bags for us when we arrived several hours prior to check in so we could go sightseeing, and they held them again for us for a couple of hours after checkout so we could see a few more things before leaving town....

"Thanks for the hotel gave me a room with the fantastic view of Niko castle. However, there was a sort of noise we could not find where it came from. The hotel kindly offered another room. Reception desk and catering services are also kind and helpful. Breakfast is superb. The facilities of gust rooms which I experienced are old, but the bed is comfortable. Staff are polite and helpful. "

"Four of us stayed for one night only at Gion Ryokan Karaku ( half board) The Kaiseki dinner was amazing! Beautiful presentation of food and staff were very attentive. The location of Gion Ryokan Karaku is very central. Just a couple of minutes away from Yatasa Shrine and an easy 15 minutes walk to Kiyomizu Dera temple. We would recommend this Ryokan to anyone who enjoys good food and service "

"Stayed for four nights. We reserved two rooms. The rooms are spacious and clean. Excellent shower. The breakfast is good. Also is the happy hour. Subway and bus stations near by. The only con on our side was that there are only two washing machines. Be ready to doing laundry at strange hours. All in all very good Experience. "

"My boyfriend and I stayed at Pocket for several days while visiting Kyoto. It is located in such a convenient area (walkable distance to Nishiki and transit). The property itself is clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful! It is definitely worth staying here for the price! The only complaint I have come from the other foreigners/tourists. Please be respectful of the space especially when maintaining cleanliness as this is a shared space. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend Pocket hotel! "
