Lovely two night stay with a friend. Staff all cheerful friendly and helpful so full marks to them. This hotel felt friendly and rooms were cosy - you could adjust the heating (and in summer air con) which is really useful.
Tea/coffee making facilities in room with an excellent selection of teas and coffee and hot chocolate - you also get a small flask of fresh milk.
My friend and I both said that this is a hotel we would feel quite comfortable and safe in if travelling alone.

Thoroughly enjoyed the night ! Should have stayed longer! Definitely will be back. The staff are very friendly and they look like they love where they are working. Very helpful!
Lovely welcome from all staff. Well appointed bedroom with excellent bed linen. The breakfast staff were super and the food delicious. Would definitely stay again.
Just a really nice experience.
Very friendly staff with a generous approach to our dog ( own sausage and plate at breakfast), excellent selection of tea, coffee etc in the room and a REALLY comfortable bed.
Towels properly fluffy too!
Lovely hotel, with a sense of community. Our room was comfortable with great facilities. Very good breakfast in the morning, served by pleasant, helpful staff. Whitstable castle and the shops were within walking distance.
Very friendly welcome and beautiful hotel full of character in a sea from location. Room very comfortable and well appointed, including good quality tea tray items and coffee machine. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Great value for money and higher standard than the price suggested. Standout feature was that every member of staff was friendly, efficient and engaging and made our stay perfect.
Apart from the noise outdoor early in the morning from the bins or something being moved around and the strong smell of fish throughout the restaurant all evening, it was lovely
We went to Whitstable on a nostalgic trip in search of the oysters! We were not disappointed.
As for The Marine Hotel, it was perfectly located on the beachfront, the room was welcoming and most comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the bar area too. Would certainly recommend it to any travellers visiting Whitstable.
Great place to stay on the Whitstable/ Tankerton seafront. Easy stroll intoWhitstable too. Rooms were comfortable, clean and warm and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Surprisingly great hotel. Didn’t give it much thought when I booked and expected a tired old seaside place. I was so pleasantly surprised to find a well fitted-out, smart, comfortable hotel and room. The staff were all lovely too - so helpful and friendly. The place was busy with guests which was great to see and created a good atmosphere. There was a party on in the event room but it just felt nicely festive and didn’t disturb anyone. Everything went really well. Breakfast was excellent. The exterior of the hotel is charming (Edwardian style I think and pretty) and the interior has been refurbed well and decorated in light and bright seaside colours. I will come back next year.

It was unfortunate that the shower mixer was not functioning properly no was the toilet giving a good flush that could not flush away toilet paper at times. We were only staying there for one night! So can’t comment if it was fixed. I was told that the property is old and things go wrong! I don’t accept that comment surely thay should have been fixed and fully operational when we use them for the first time! When we were leaving the hotel the elevator stopped working with my wife and son in it. I would not recommend this property to anyone for staying longer than one night from our experience!
Hotel was lovely, bed very comfortable. The bathroom window was filthy though and covered in dirt and cobwebs. Other than the bathroom window it was clean. Breakfast was good.

Disliked: Room comfort
Air con was out of action
Staff were very helpful, but the air con was not working
and they could not tell us when it would be working again.
I would not of booked, given it was a sea facing room.
We had one night at the Marine Hotel which we booked last minute. Finding a hotel to visit with a toddler isn’t always easy but I could clearly tell from the outset that Marine Hotel offered itself as a child (and pet) friendly hotel. Beautiful beach front views, free parking outside the hotel and an absolutely brilliant breakfast! All the staff we spoke to were wonderfully friendly and helpful. A wonderful bolthole for visiting Whitstable and the nearby area.
