The room is filthy and not at all like the pictures. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. I would have checked out but all the rooms in town were booked. I thought about sleeping in my vehicle rather than to stay in this dump. I will still be looking for a refund.

Not much that’s Grand about this place. Complete with dead cockroaches, shopping carts out front, hair still in the sheets and on the counters, oddly bullet shaped holes patched in the room with different shades of paint, and repairs done with plywood, can’t get a whole lot worse. Front desk person was nice though, so they’ve got that going for them…

Magnuson Grand Hotel and Conference Center in Tyler Tx. has a fancy name; but it is a dump! My room had no phone, no alarm clock, no working smoke detectors; but it did have bugs. Big ones! That hotel had seen it’s best days 50 years ago; so I checked out of there and stayed at the Hilton next door.

The staff was pleasant. The neighbors were loud and smoking all night. there was an empty shopping cart outside my door. The room was clean.

The price was very reasonable. The check in and check out process was very easy and quick. The hotel looks and feels old, but the rooms were very spacious and clean. The area around the hotel has several nice breakfast and dining options in a walkable distance. The Rose Garden, the Azalea district and other local attractions are just a 15 - 20 min drive (at the most) from this hotel. We enjoyed out stay.
