Very cool historic hotel, front desk staff and valet were very nice. Bathroom is a bit small but ok. The reason it’s only getting 4-stars from me is because of the lack of coordination between the hotel and its restaurant. We had arrived after a long flight from Lisbon and were told about the restaurant for breakfast the next morning. Unfortunately, when we got there at 10:30 AM, the restaurant was packed (on a Saturday), no tables, slow/poor service, overwhelmed kitchen. That might be ok for a holiday weekend but the front desk should have anticipated the rush and offered a hotel guest priority reservation or something. Most higher-end hotels know how to coordinate guest services a little better. Also, I called for the valet to help with bags, waited 15 minutes until the cleaning service knocked on the door (it was checkout day), and the valet only showed up after the cleaning service manager made a second request. Another glitch possibly due to a busy weekend but hotel management should anticipate this. Overall we still had a pleasant stay and would definitely give it another try. Thanks!
