Australia - New Zealand and the South Pacific Hotels

We chose this hotel as it is close to Etihad Stadium and we were going to the football. It was on a good special too. It was a pleasant surprise to find such excellent accommodation for the price. The rooms are a good size and the amenities are very good, but I would have liked a second chair in the room. The bed was super comfortable and the room, on the 7th floor , was super quiet, so much so we slept in till 9:30 ! Thank goodness check out is 11 a.m. There is a bar/café downstairs which was buzzing before and after the game, great atmosphere for a nightcap. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The Vibe is over the road from Southern Cross station and the tram stop is right out the front, easy to travel around. Altogether we were very impressed. The décor is Art Deco in keeping with the age of the hotel as it was built in 1926. Back in 1942, when it was called the Savoy, my parents spent their honeymoon night there before my dad went back to Darwin to fight the Japanese. I didn't know this until I was telling mum (now 92), about our stay. It was a nice touch.

For the location and price this was fantastic. It is hard to find an inner city hotel with a carpark at $15 a night. The room was clean and modern, warm and sound proof from the busy city below. We had a lovely view, easy walking distance. Friendly staff at reception. I will definitely stay again next time I am in Melbourne.

We had an early flight and we asked the concierge if our room would be ready and they said they would endeavour to have it ready for when we arrived and much to our suprise when we arrived it was in fact ready! Also the fare from an airport to the hotel with a taxi is highly expensive, but this hotel is registered with sky bus hotel transfers meaning we had to pay only $30 for all 3 of us and it was a very fast journey as well! The concierge were extremely helpful too, they knew every place we wanted to go and the best ways to get there and attractions etc. The gym was very good and worth a look! The restaurants inside were at the higher price end.. So we didn't eat there. The Archibald Art Exhibition was on at the time of our stay which was an extra bonus! Right next door is the DFO and it is the best in Melbourne! Transport is easily accessible and it is just a short stroll across the river to the city and the free city tram! Our overall stay was absolutely flawless and would recommend to anyone! Our son is now even staying there for a few days! 10/10 from us!

My recent visit to Sydney was made all the better for staying at The Four Points by Sheraton at Darling Harbour. From the moment we walked in the attention and care of the staff was evident and nothing was a problem. The checkin was seamless and our luggage was promptly delivered to our room. The beds were a dream and the room was well appointed and very clean for our busy four day stay. The hotel itself is so convenient to everything and the staff were quick to point us in the right direction with any query. How nice to be treated to great service and professionalism no matter what time of the day or night. A definite stay in the future.
