Didn’t feel safe leaving immediate area. Walked to a restaurant and there were homeless people and drug addicts selling and injecting drugs right in open. We received a call to our room at 10:30 pm from someone pretending to be front desk asking for credit card info for “incidentals” We did not do even though close to and told front desk in a.m. and they confirmed scammed. They put note on front desk warning customers. Also we were never notified that pool was closed or when we called them to compare rates with Expedia they never informed us they offered discount if there for medical reason even though we asked how far they were from Boston’s Children Hospital. With all that in mind I would stay there again. I now know what to expect

The staff were very friendly and informative. The shuttle was convenient and breakfast was great! Somewhat disappointed in the pool, it water was cold and it was playing the same add over and over again on the speakers.

I paid for a Long bed and was downgraded to a Queen without notice. The area surrounding the hotel felt unsafe. Not what was advertised at all.

The room, facilities and services were solid and what you’d expect for a basic hotel. Staff was welcoming, good breakfast selection and shuttle service much appreciated. The location is somewhat out of the way (22 min walk from orange line), and presence of people, sometimes in large groups, on the streets, loitering at bus stops etc. meant we didn’t feel particularly comfortable walking anywhere in the local area.

A lot of loitering outside. Homeless people/drug use on streets. We were scared to be outside. Otherwise the hotel and staff were very nice

The hotel is close to Northeastern university. The parking garage is very convenient and close. The area around the hotel is not so nice. Many homeless. The breakfast is very basic and coffee tasted nasty. I stayed at 3rd floor and it was little noisy during the night from the noise in the street .

The rooms were clean, staff was great but the Inn itself was near the ER and a methadone clinic so it was noisy trying to sleep at night due to the homeless people yelling near the tent city and the sirens all hours. There were people randomly knocking at our door which was odd. But for a night in Boston, the room was cheaper than any other place.

This Hampton is a reasonably nice hotel in an unpleasant neighborhood. My room was clean and comfortable. The shower was subpar, but everything else seemed to work. The breakfast was good. Being next to the Boston University Medical Center with various street people in mental distress was somewhat disturbing, but not a deal breaker. For a one night stay it was OK.

Although there were homeless people and a correctional facility within mins of the hotel, they never bothered me in the slightest. And I felt safe. Hotel Security & Patrol did an excellent job. I would have never known if taxi driver Ike had not informed me on my excursion with him.

The Front Desk Staff was very accommodating as I navigated early check in before running the Boston Marathon. Also helped out with late checkout on a busy after holiday weekend. There was a shuttle special for the weeks festivities and that was so helpful. Property is near a residential neighborhood and a hospital with lots of activity and unhoused people.

I would not recommend staying here if you want to sleep or enjoy the pool. We stayed marathon weekend so as another reviewer stated it was the only affordable place with a room left. The pool is freezing cold. The room was allowing rainwater in during a storm. Staff did not seem concerned about that at all. The gym is open 24/7 which is not fun when you are underneath it. Overall, for the price this place was a nightmare. The staff handling breakfast was great and the breakfast was the bright spot.

This was the cheapest we could find as it was marathon weekend, the area is not pleasant ( taxi driver told us it was known as Methadone mile !) lots of police sirens day and night ,the hotel was fine,very basic but clean but the area is not nice and we had to Uber everywhere

I know Hampton is known for best reputation however I was dismayed this time. We were placed in front of the hospital with noise from the ambulance and with a bathroom door that wont close. Other than that, our stay was fine.

The hotel staff and ammiditys are excellent. The surrounding neighborhood was very bad. The parking garage elevator smelled like someone urinated in it.

Once you were inside the property, everything was good-as expected. Unfortunately, as you pull into the property, the amount of people asking for money and loitering were quite alarming to say the least! The proximity to a hospital, without knowing prior to arriving, caused sleepless nights due to ambulances and their sirens sounding as if they were right outside your window. Will not be coming back.
