"This is really something to be experienced. It is new (2023) and massive - hundreds and hundreds of guests. It is a spa, first and foremost. The rooms are huge, quiet, and elegant; the numerous staff are efficient and multi-lingual. Hot springs in the building, hundreds of guests strolling about in hotel yukata, views of the peaks and ocean. The optional meals are definitely recommended - the food is fantastic and also it is a long hike to get down the mountain. Partner likened it to a luxury...

"Had dinner and breakfast along with the private bath room. The food was excellent each time and plentiful (dinner was a little on the large side so if you stay, I might recommend skipping lunch). The staff was friendly throughout the stay and greeted us at the entrance when coming in for check in and after out outing. Location is close to the bus station from Beppu station and just one street away from Beppu Jigoku (Hell) which makes for convenience when coming by public transportation....

"Our stay at Kamenoi Hotel Beppu was wonderful. The room was spacious and conveniently located near Beppu Station and bus stops, as well as a Lawsons right across the street. The onsite onsen was great as well. Very large with steam bath and open air options."

"Pros: 1. Location: many bus stops nearby, and hotel is between 2 of the largest shopping centres in Beppu. So finding food is easy. There is also a nice restaurant opposite the hotel, Royal Host. Con’s 1. We wanted to check in at 2 pm but staff was insistent to only let us check in at 3pm. So we waited at the lobby. There was no traffic in the hotel in that one hour and at 2.45pm, we were then offered the room. Why so rigid? 2. The hotel was unmanned at night, which may pose a security...

"Good hotel in a good part of town. Very friendly staff and a very nice onsen. Only difficulty for me was that I had a lot of luggage because I was in the process of moving and that made getting around difficult but overall a very nice stay. "
