See how Parisians live in the most populated zone, where bright city lights illuminate the waters of the Seine.

The 15th Arrondissement is a chic, tranquil part of Paris in the Eiffel Tower’s shadow. The zone contains the former Roman village of Vaugirard, which today hosts exhibitions and a charming park. Stroll along the waterfront, where high-rise structures illuminate the banks at night.

Central Paris has a height restriction, which means its few skyscrapers rise far above the surrounding cityscape. Appreciate spectacular views in this arrondissement near the Eiffel Tower. Take the elevator to the 56th floor of Montparnasse Tower for its lookout over the city.

For an even better view, ride the Ballon de Paris, a hot air balloon hovering above the area. Among the largest in the world, it rises to a height of 490 feet (150 meters).

Walk through the Vaugirard area, which for centuries was a serene suburb for affluent Parisians. Now part of the city, one of its popular attractions is the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Browse the intriguing events, including car shows, wedding markets and other themes in one of Europe’s largest exhibition centers.

Nearby, watch a thrilling event, such as ice skating or music concerts, in the Palais des Sports. The 4,600-seat venue has an intriguing design of aluminum panels and a dome.

Discover the bright lights reflected in the water on the Front de Seine, a business and residential quarter. It is among the few spots in the city with high-rise buildings. Take photos of the Paris cityscape from one of the bridges, such as the Pont Mirabeau or the Pont de Bir-Hakeim. Note the frescoes that decorate the esplanade. These are best viewed from one of the towers above.

Plenty of metro stations and lines serve the zone, which covers a large section of southwestern Paris. Ride lines 6, 8, 10 and 12 to reach the area just northeast of Issy-les-Moulineaux. Arrive in Paris at the Montparnasse Railway Station, which serves most of the country.

Get to know the taller side of Paris among the towers of the 15th Arrondissement.
