Basic Accommodatin station with furnishings that are old and require repair and updating. Attention to cleanliness lacking. Proprietor English. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

A family friendly place near the National Park

This was our daughter's favorite place in Germany. The accomodations made her feel like she was at home. There was a friendly dog to play with, and our hosts had even put stuffed animals on her bed. They were very helpful with recommendations and directions, and their English is flawless. It's very close to the Falkenstein visitor's center for the Bavarian National Forest, and Zwiesel is a nice town, too!

Kurz aber bestens

Wir waren nur eine Kurze Nacht lang da. Besonders kundenorientiert empfanden wir den jungen Gastwirt, der uns schon um 06:20 Uhr ein sehr gutes Frühstück präsentiert hat. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen, wenn es nochmal in den Bayerischen Wald geht.

Great spot for winter sport stay

I stayed at Pension Heidi for a solo weekend ski trip. I was actually the only person staying there for the two nights I spent in Zwiesel, but the pension owner did not cut back on any of the great services. They still put out the full spread for breakfast and made sure that I had everything that I needed. The facility itself was immaculately clean and in good condition. The bed was a little firm, but I actually prefer firm mattresses so I thought it was perfect. The wireless internet was not the fastest I've experienced, but more than adequate for my needs. I was able to quickly pull up emails, websites, and check my social media feeds. I didn't stream any videos so I cannot speak to the Wi-Fi's ability to handle the larger files. I liked the quiet neighborhood, but it was a little far from the city center. I was able to walk to and from the city area, but it might be farther than others will want to walk.

Das Bad könnte eine Renovierung vertragen, schlecht waren Matratzen und Kissen. Dafür aber sehr ruhig, und die Pensionswirte äußerst nett und zuvorkommend.

Clean hotel, nice rooms

We stayed here for one night, just looked for a good deal to pit our head down after arriving late in the evening in Munich. The hotel was clean and easy to find. we took the lower rate, so the shower and toeilets were shared.

Great value for money

I stayed in Pension-Heidi for 2 nights during the period of 15-17 August 2014 and i was travelling with my dog. The purpose of my visit in Zwiesel was to spend some hours hiking in the Bavarian Forest but without any concrete plans. Dave helped me decide what to do by providing lots of tips and information. The place is not luxurious but by guesthouse standards it's great. There is quite nice selection included in the breakfast buffet, consisting of things like pastries, different types of breads, fruit, cereals, yoghurts, slices of cheeses and ham (and other stuff which i didn't pay attention to as i don't eat meat) as well as orange and apple juice and of course coffee, tea and milk. From the guesthouse it takes around 15 minutes to drive to the Ludwigsthal entrance to the park, which has a lot of trails going to Mount Falkenstein. There are amenities such as satelite TV and free, high-speed WiFi. The rooms are not plainly furnished but there is everything you need for a few-nights stay. I saw some reviews complaining that there is nothing to do around the guesthouse. I wouldn't say that is true unless of course you fall into the ultra-lazy category of people that cannot be bothered to walk the 15-minutes it takes to get to the center of Zwiesel. Of course you do need to bear in mind that Zwiesel is a village and there is in any case not all that much to do but the majority of the people visiting do it for the outdoor activities available and not for the party atmosphere

Very likeable place

Best place that we stayed in our 30 day road trip in europe. Nice Breakfast. Very pleasant staff.

Leider nicht zu empfehlen

Die Pension liegt nicht gerade Zentral, ich bin mir sicher das es wesentlich schönere Ecken in Zwiesel gibt. Von außen sieht die Pension ganz ok aus. Doch von innen, meiner Meinung nach veraltet, das Zimmer war groß mit Balkon. Es war sehr hellhörig. An den Decken befanden sich Spinnweben, die Toilette wackelt sehr, ansonsten hatte ich das Gefühl, dass der Boden klebte. Das Frühstück, naja, ist das Geld nicht wert, wir bekamen alte Norma oder Lidl Brötchen, diese in den durchsichtigen Beuteln. Da wir über Pfingsten waren (Feiertag) waren diese dann doch sehr hart, und kaum mit dem Messer zu schneiden. Ansonsten war die Auswahl nicht gerade üppig. Das Frühstück gab es dann auch nur von 8:00 bis 9:00 Uhr. Wenn ich schon mal Urlaub habe möchte ich nicht um 7:30 aufstehen.

Stay here!

The hotel was situated in an awesome position- so much to see and do. An additional benefit was the host's knowledge of the local area, including attractions and places to dine, was greatly appreciated!! We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay as we ourselves will stay there again when next in the area.

Good family accommodations

The owner and his son were most accommodating and made our stay very pleasant. It would help if the light bulbs in the bathroom and in the nightstand lamps were stronger. A very quiet location in the middle of well cared=for private homes and gardens, beautiful views from the balconies and wonderful fresh air. The owner's photographs in the hall were exceptionally fine. mjsmith
