"Check-in I believe is at 3pm and I arrived just before 12pm, the lady at the front desk was more than happy to check me in, if my room was available - IT SURE WAS! This saved me approximately 3 hours because I normally like to freshen up upon checking in. Overall the staff are extremely attentive and kind. "The hotel had a comfortable bed with blockout curtains and all the amenities one would want in a room . It’s a two mike walk to the old town and restaurants but for us it was good to walk back after dinner . One can catch an Uber or tram so convenient I guess . The shower had good force but there was something about it that made the water too hot or cold but worked out regardless . Wish I could have spent time in the jacuzzi and pool which looked inviting and awesome . "

"The Hotel Best Western Astoria is in a neighbourhood that leaves something to be desired. The hotel itself is like a rose amongst thorns - a gem in the rough. Once you walk through the doors you easily forget the roughness of the neighbourhood.The room is splendid, clean and airy. Breakfasts, included with the cost of the room, are sumptuous. "The hotel was in the heart of lower town. Easy access to the train and very walkable. Anything you would need is in this area. The hotel was pretty quiet and very comfortable. Getting hot water for a bath/shower was challenging. The included breakfast was a buffet of so many options. We were able to get a late checkout and store our luggage so we could see more sites the day we were leaving. The manager at the front desk was a very nice guy.
