The Birdhouse

We stayed at The Birdhouse. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked with quality pots, pans, dishes, spices, cooking oils, sugar, etc. The bedroom is a big loft with dressers and a TV, though, without doors. The place only has one bathroom. Great deck and hot tub.

This property has WiFi, which I would rather not have. Because everyone was so addicted to their phones in the city already, I would prefer not to have WiFi and be cell phone free for a couple days.

Great house with lots of room! Good location too. Everything about the house was great... only thing is I had gotten a strange allergy in both my eyes just being in the house and got worse sleeping in the bed. Not sure why.... it was very uncomfortable. Fortunately it went away once we checked out. Everything else was great..loved the kitchen!

We loved the cabin. It was very cute, clean and cozy. Unfortunately, the mattress on all the beds were very noisy with crunchy-like sounds whenever we made a slightest move.

The stay was good. The overall cabin was very clean, large, and furnished with many things (such as a TV) that made the stay more enjoyable, relaxing, and pleasant. The cabin itself was overall amazing and a great value for the price. However, I wish there were a way to get service or make phone calls when we get close to the cabins, because once we got close we lost all service and did not have a way to contact anyone. In addition, I wish there were ways to purchase food after 9 PM, as we came in at that time and were unable to get dinner because no food options were available that late. If PaPa Bear Cabin could keep some snacks or something perhaps in the cabin (that can be charged to the bill if used), that would be nice. These two aspects (lack of service and lack of food past 9 PM) soured the experience a little bit. I understand that these aspects are not in Scenic Wonders' control, but I would appreciate it if they could try to make the experience better, such as perhaps by installing phones outside to use in emergencies if locked out and by having snacks/food kept in the cabin in case dinner was not available/open.

Wawona is a great location, only an hour away from the Valley, but quiet and SO much more relaxing. Mariposa Grove is about 10 minutes away by car, and there is a good hike up Chilnualana Falls that you can take without even getting in the car. The house is new, well maintained, and filled with amenities. There is also a small grocery just around the corner. We enjoyed our Bruin's Den stay very much!

BEST. STAY. EVER.

AMAZING amenities, especially in the kitchen which was fully stocked. Beds were comfortable, views were gorgeous. Very peaceful, and easy to get to nearby attractions. It's inside Yosemite park, and about 50 minutes from the Valley, and 2 hours from Hetch Hetchy, but there are some nearby hiking places too like Wawona Meadow. There is also a gas station 3 minutes away and a small store in case you forget anything. We had everything we needed, including Netflix at night (no sign-in required). The only thing is that there is no AC, only heating. But that wasn't an issue for us. We just opened the windows for a very nice cool breeze.

This was perfect for us, we were a group of 2 couples with 2 kids. The layout and size was great. It takes about 30 min to drive to Yosemite valley. We would stay here again.
