We were booked to stay at the NovaStar hotel for five nights and wanted a room with easy access for big bags and some food prep facilities. We arrived very late in the night after driving from the city and found the room to have cobwebs, furniture covered in dust, the bathtub was leaking, moldy and covered in hair, plus there was a tear in the window covering and without blinds or curtains it was possible to see directly into the bathroom from the walkway. There was a strong odor of cologne or cleaning supplies, the lights flickered and while blackout curtains were in one window the other had just a thin blind so the lights from the parking lot and exterior were very bright inside. My daughter and felt both unsafe and unclean in the room but the staff available was not able to do anything with the reservation. The bed appeared clean and due to the late hour we stayed the night.
I awoke the next morning with my eyes almost sealed shut due to allergies and the amount of dust. (Not seasonal allergies as this did not occur once we moved locations) we left at 6:30 in the morning and again staff on site told me that they could not change the reservation. I called the number provided and spoke with multiple people advising of the unacceptable state of the room and requested the remainder of the reservation to be cancelled and refunded (since I had paid for the entire visit directly through the hotel).
After much back and forth the staff advised me that they would not offer
