Amazing hotel and staff
We had a great stay at the Golden Guest Inn. The owners of the hotel go above and beyond to help you and provide everything to make you feel welcome. The free beer and drinks and laundry is a great touch. The hotel is not in Downtown but everything is easy to reach and cheap via taxi.

Great hotel, great family!
Small rooms, but comfortable and very clean. Fantastic American-style breakfast that tastes like home. The family that runs the inn is very kind and accommodating. Really appreciated my stay!

Family-run hotel, helpful staff, clean rooms
A family-run hotel, the rooms were tidy and quiet, despite being just a driveway off a busy road. Nothing fancy, but in a lovely colonial building. Complimentary soft drinks and beer helped make it cosier! The staff were very helpful and friendly, making sure we got where we were going and helped us with transport. The owner speaks excellent English, which isn't something you find at every hotel in Yangon.

The hotel is not the Ritz - my first impression upon entering is like someone's slightly chaotic front room. However I would still recommend this hotel for various reasons. Firstly the staff were extremely helpful and professional and were willing to spend time helping with travel plans. The room - despite looking a bit dilapidated - was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Also the room had some excellent 5 star facilities such as free beers in the fridge and filter coffee! The hotel is a little outside the centre - but convenient for travelling to the airport.

Great Hotel
We arrived after an overnight bus, at about 6.30am and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating.
Our room for 3 people was still occupied so they prepared us 2 rooms so that we could go and have a shower and a sleep. The whole stay they couldn't have been nicer and the hotel was lovely as well.

Fantastic hotel
We started our trip in Myanmar at the Golden Guest Inn. It was a perfect start. Everybody was very nice to us and helped us with any question we had. The room and bathroom were cosy, really clean and the wifi was great in speed. We had to choose the breakfast the day before and it was really tasty. The hotel is a little bit outside of the center (quiet at night) but we took the train (station is 15 minutes to walk) or a taxi. The owner also helped us on the last day to get a taxi to the aiport. He got up early for us and talked to the driver so that all went well. We are looking forward to come there again, what will be soon. We can honestly recommend this hotel due to their warmly hospitality. Thank you.

An Oasis
As soon as we arrived the owner-manager was caring for us and helping us. I had broken a toe earlier in the day before arriving at the airport. Tet immediately phoned the office of the orthaepedic doctor for an appointment and told us the cost breakdown. The rest of the family were just as helpful with anything we asked about. The inn is an hour from downtown, 30 minutes from airport and set back off a busy road so the sound of birds wake you. The breakfast was super with lots of food and choices....various eggs, muesli, fruit, juice, jams honey, peanut butter, Nutella, yogurt and wonderful bakery made cracked wheat bread/toast. The bread in itself was worth the breakfast. You just checked off all that you wanted. Bonuses....flat screen tv, complimentary pop, water and Myanmar beer in your mini frig, many English stations-some with old/new movies, free use of new automatic washing machine with laundry soap. The inn has an ATM machine, arranges travel flights and an English speaking driver and guide. The mattresses in the hotel are all new. Our queen bed was extremely comfortable. Outside there are sitting areas to relax, email etc. Oh yes, the WIFi was soon fast...fibre optics which is the usual. We enjoyed our 4 nights/ days immensely.

A lovely, quiet hotel, but some way out of town
A Lovely small quiet hotel, but in the wrong area to be fantastic. Its near Inya Lake (west side), but maybe too far out from town, although with bartering the taxis are not too expensive.
A well looked after hotel set back from a major road, with a major bus stop outside, but back far enough to be quiet. with the free mini bar, breakfast, access to washing machine all included.

I stayed in a twin room for four nights. The room was excellent! It was spacious, clean, high-ceiling, and had shower with hot water, powerful air conditioners and TV. The staffs were very kind. The manager offered free drinks in the fridge in the room. You'll find a bus stop in front of the hotel. Actually that was one reason that I booked the hotel. But I realized you will not be able to use buses if you are not familiar with Myanmar language. I enjoyed breakfast everyday in the lobby. There was even ATM (visa, master, jcb) in the lobby. You can freely use a big washing machine outside the room. I absolutely recommend this comfortable and affordable hotel to everyone.

Adequate Hotel With Outstanding Helpful Manager
The rooms are big and adquate. The mini bar is free. The manager is fun to talk to and extremely helpful. Close to airport and cab easy to get with low fares. I think only $4 to airport and $6 from the airport. Great American TV with movies. Next door to very good restaurant. Rave reviews for owner manager. Lobby is cluttered but breakfast is super.
