"The hotel had a nice, upscale feel overall, but it didn’t quite live up to its “waterfront” claim, there was more construction than water, and no visible view from the room. The front desk staff were kind, though not especially personable. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was extremely poor, which was frustrating as I was traveling for both business and leisure. The on-site restaurant was a highlight, with outstanding waitstaff, though the prices were quite high. Since the hotel doesn’t offer breakfast and Salem isn’t particularly known for its food options, dining can quickly become expensive. The heated pool was a nice amenity in theory, but it wasn’t very warm, and the peeling paint took away from the experience. While touches like in-room robes added to the upscale atmosphere, one of ours had lipstick on the sleeve, raising concerns about cleanliness. Overall, a decent stay with some nice features, but a few notable shortcomings."
