Unique place overviewing the hills of Saba. Not a high class place to stay (in accordance with the rates), but everything is just good! Charming place, good service, good amenities, wonderful staff. I had a joyful stay and a great time!

Le cadre est vraiment merveilleux dans la nature avec cette vue imprenable sur les falaises et l’océan. Malheureusement beaucoup de chiens aux environs et des aboiements réguliers jour et nuit ont perturbé le calme. Andries est très agréable et dynamique ! Petit dej avec vue fantastique !

El Momo Cottage is a simple basic place you will love, if you just want to take a break and go back to basic. The wooden cabin located in hill with an awesome view. I return home fully rested and recharged. Just by staying there. Definitely I'm going back. It's my retraer in the unspoiled queen called Saba

mosquitos you had to climb 80 slippery steps to climb to reach to tiny room they call cottage one night strange voices of man and woman when i was told that only one or two people lived in mosquitoes bites whole body criquet sounds all night /cant sleep to reach toilet at night walk down 4 to 5 slippery steps in rain jungle like environment i was forced to leave after staying 3 nights and flnd better hotel and pay again for rest in Saba till 13 sept i complained to expedia customer service and they requested refund from cottabe peolple but no reply yet

Loved this place as so simply beautiful and relaxed. Not suitable if struggle with mobility as located up a steep hill / steps ... But worth the view.

The staff is fantastic! Cabins are simple, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.The views are amazing! Be prepared to climb to enjoy the views. Lots of stairs but worth it!

Personnel accueillant et très accommodant. Magnifique vue qui vaut la montée des marches. On se sent en nature. Chambre simple, mais qui comporte tout le nécessaire avec un souci du détail. Bon rapport qualité prix.

Fun and Eco Friendly

I had a wonderful visit at El Momo. I was in Saba for hiking and the cottages were nestled into the woods, giving the perfect setting for enjoying the natural surroundings. The view from the cottages was amazing, the pool was a perfect spot to relax after a day out. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Loved my stay at El Momo! It's rustic and a climb up the 60 steps, but the views are amazing, Andries was helpful and welcoming, and it's SO peaceful. Definitely not a chain hotel, but if you're looking for a quiet, quaint cottage and don't mind a frog or gecko passing through - it's wonderful! The Sunshine cottage has a shower overlooking the ocean and was perfect!

Mountain view

Nice owners who were very helpful and friendly. Beautiful view from my little house. Bathroom was separate from the room and a bit simple and basic. Swimming pool was good.

The hosts were wonderful. Very knowledgable about the island and very willing ot help and answer any questions. The accommodations were perfect. That being said, if you didn't read, THIS IS ECO TOURISM. Knowing that, I was expecting a little less, but this place was fantastic!

We had a great weekend in Saba. The owners were very nice and welcoming and the cottages were comfortable. Near lovely restaurants and shops, and close to the trails. Breakfast was great and pool refreshing. Only downside was the noise at night from neighborhood dogs barking and early roosters. We did not sleep well.

We loved this place, even if part of the appeal was in knowing that other people would be too spoiled or uptight to deal with the long stairs, the uphill walk home from the restaurants, the composting toilet, the occasional visit from the cat, etc. The proprietors are very sincere, personable and helpful and have a great sense of humor. Prices are better than fair. The pool is a great asset and the breakfasts are solid. If you think of the rooms as forest cabins instead of a "hotel," it feels glamorous. We heartily recommend this place.

Great views from our cottage, and the whole property. The owners Andries and Eva are nice and really working hard to make this work. But everything is old and needs work. That said this is a place in the middle of nature and of course there are bugs and butterflies. The breakfast they serve is just great and well priced. And how they try to be eco friendly is appreciated, but if all would be cleaner it would be better.

I like the idea. Not really practical FOR ME for an extended stay. However, the experience is a must try! Owner/staff was extremely friendly with a sense of humor. He made me feel safe & at home. Overall, I love the experience. For my first time on Saba, I would have done nothing differently.

DOG. BARKING. ALL. DAY.

I rely heavily on reviews to decide where I want to stay and this review will reflect the pros and cons. Scenery is beautiful, the pool is amazing, the hosts are amazing, the grounds are amazing. Excellent location, beautiful view, accommodations are exceptionally clean and exactly what they claim to be, which is very minimalist. If you're going to be hiking or scuba diving during the day or doing something during the day, this is a great spot. If you plan on staying there and lounging by the pool and reading a book there is a neighbor dog that barks ALL DAY LONG. Not occasionally, it barks constantly from 6:30am to 8:00pm, NONSTOP! We booked for 7 days and relocated after 3 days. The dog barking was more than we could take. We wanted peace, quiet, and Silence, as the sign says. There was no silence. If a barking dog doesn't bother you then this is absolutely the place for you. We loved every aspect except the barking.

One of the best view in town. Andries and Eva are very nice, honest and reliable hosts. But take their warning about the steps seriously, when you book. Our cottage was 109 steps from the road, so travel light.

El Momo is the kind of place that people who are into Eco tourism will truly enjoy. The bed was comfortable, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the location is on a mountainside embedded in a tropical forest, and the view from the balcony is spectacular. We came to Saba to experience a tropical island, and El Momo was the perfect place to stay. A little warning though,you will have to climb stairs, the frogs will sing all night, and the iguanas might nibble on your food. If that is not a problem for you, I highly recommend staying at El Momo.

Perfect especially if you want to meditate

Awesome! at first I thought it will be uncomfortable due it is all the way up in the mountains surrounded by plants and insects. I was surprised no musquitos or what so ever during the night. Without air conditioning but each room has a ventilator and is pretty chill in the night hours since Saba is surrounded by plants and the ECO systems worked good!! I recommend this place!

This is one of the best eco-lodges I've stayed in. First, don't let the stairs scare you off: if you're in moderately decent shape, the climb is not at all bad. After making your way up, you arrive at a lovely pool deck: the pool is fed with rainwater collected from the property. The water is very soft, chlorine-free, and so refreshing after a day of hiking and exploring Saba. Andries, the owner, is incredibly friendly and helpful: he knows the island in and out and can point you to variety of restaurants, things to do, etc. The simple but clean dining area has an amazing view overlooking the ocean: if you're lucky, you can grab a beer or glass of wine from the honor bar and catch the sunset from there. I stayed in the Lizard Room, a suite of four separate spaces: the room itself, a covered outdoor sink, a small room with a shower and toilet, and a private deck also overlooking the ocean. The room was simple but very comfortable: between a fan and the elevation, there was no real need for air conditioning. Though there's such a seamless blending of indoor and outdoor space, everything is immaculate and well cared for. In terms of location, El Momo is only about a ten minute walk from the heart of Windward Side, where you can dine, shop, and begin your hike up Mt. Scenery. I would gladly return on a future visit.
