We loved our stay in the cottage. My wife now wants me to build one just like it somewhere. Big enough to not feel cramped, but not too big to where it becomes expensive. The screened patio was enjoyable, we ate dinner and breakfast there. The AC worked great and was very comfortable inside!

Comfortable stay in a charming small town

Spacious, clean and comfortable cabin-like room with all the amenities & more! A wonderful screened in & covered porch so we could sit outside & enjoy the grounds. Clawfoot bathtub and separate large shower. Semi-kitchen with fridge, microwave, sink, coffee maker. Very comfortable and located in the beautiful Trinity Alps.

The cabin settings are great, I stayed in a one-bed which happened to be attached to another unit where the other customers adjacent enjoyed getting up at 5am with heavy feet and having conversations across the room. The other issue is the Tao Cabin has dedicated parking in front of it but another customer preferred to park there with his large work truck and block it off daily with no consideration for others.

We really enjoyed staying here, the cottage was very spacious and clean with comfortable beds and a beautiful huge bathroom. The screened porch with grille would be lovely in the summer months. Very happy we found this hidden gem.

Cute and clean, very well-outfitted kitchenette with dishes, pots and pans, a cheese grater, and other supplies. They even had ground coffee in a jar and single servings of 1/2 and 1/2 in the fridge. Loved the waterfall shower. I’ll be back!

We stayed in the Promontory cabin and was so pleasantly surprised at how modern, clean and well appointed it was! It was over 100 when we arrived and opened the door to an air conditioned cabin with some easy listening music! The patio was perfect with the day bed and chairs! The shower and tub were luxurious… nothing was spared in creating this cabin! I would have stayed longer had I known how beautiful it was! By far the most comfortable bed of all our hotel stays this vacation! Thank you so much for making our stay special and comfortable! The communication with the hostess was amazing also! 5 of 5 stars from us and we will be back but for longer!!!

Check-in was easy and flexible for our stay. The room was pretty clean. The property was not as listed. The Garden was non-existent or way over-grown. It was fine for a night's sleep, but I would not want to stay for an extended period of time. Limited amenities and poorly kept grounds.

The entire time I was staying at the property, I never saw anyone in the office. And I was out of some items for the bathroom, but there was nobody in the office for me to address this issue with.

Sleepless night

This is a very quaint property overlooking a little river. The cottage was clean inside but needs a little more attention on the outside. July and there are still leaves all over the deck and the patio furniture looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a long while. We were extremely disappointed as the AC wasn’t working and it was 85 degrees outside and probably 95 inside. The bed was hard as a rock, a piece of plywood would have been just as comfortable.

Look and listen please!!! I really enjoyed the photos and reviews for this place so I was taken back ALOT when we arrived. There was no front desk person to check us in and we needed a code to enter our cabin. I called several times and it sounded like someone was aswerinfg but I could not hear them well? My partner finally got ahold of someone who gave us the code. THE PLACE WAS NOT VENTILATED AT ALL. We were sweating so bad. We had to strip down naked and that still was not enough. We were standing in the shower and running the cold water. The AC was pumping out warm air but the device said it was pumping out 64 degree air (yeah right). The messaged them over the app but truthfully we could not stay there, even for one night. The next day around the artfernoon they called me back and stated that they put an extra AC in the room while we were gone. The lady on the phone was hostile about it and hung up after telling us this. Also if we were still there would they have just let themself into our place??? My partner and I are asian and he told me that he got ALOT of stares when he went to pick up a pizza from their local shop. Turns out reviews and reddit state that this town is very r*cist and have a lot of car break ins. This town is only known for a Bigfoot sighting I guess??? Also the WIFI is slow but they seems very minor compared to the rest of the stay. Just posting this to help someone, even if its one person!!!

The cottage was really cute. I would have rated the property 5 star except for a couple of issues that made it not a great value. The property seemed to have just opened for the season, so maybe that's why it wasn't ready for prime time. 1) the kitchen area is not really a kitchen and isn't well stocked. There is only a very small toaster oven and a microwave. There is a gas grill with a burner which could be used for cooking. There are some plates, a couple of bowls, only 2 forks, no serving bowls, no cutting board . . . There were only two of us, so we made do. 2) the gas grill had not been cleaned in some time. Only one side would light and a grease fire broke out on the interior. I didn't notice until our steaks got extra crispy. 3) The screen porch cushions could use a good cleaning 4) the tv screen has a weird shadow 5) There was a flower pot outside by the screen door with unsightly grass growing in it. Remove the pot or plant something in it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but feel like it didn't live up to the potential.
