I chose the Comfort Inn & Suites West Springfield for a special birthday weekend getaway, specifically looking forward to relaxing in the pool and hot tub area. While the front desk staff (particularly the lady at check-in) was incredibly kind and welcoming, I unfortunately cannot say the same for the rest of my experience.My stay was significantly impacted by a complete lack of supervision in the pool area. Throughout the weekend, there were groups of unattended children jumping in and out of the hot tub and running around the pool deck. Not only did this make it impossible to have the relaxing birthday experience I had paid for, but it felt like a major safety liability. As a guest, I didn't feel it was my place to act as a lifeguard or chaperone, yet there was no hotel staff presence to enforce the posted "adult supervision" rules.
It’s a shame because the hotel has potential and the service at the desk was great, but the chaotic environment in the amenities I specifically booked for really ruined the occasion. I left feeling more stressed than when I arrived, which is disappointing for a milestone celebration. I had hoped for a much better experience from this Choice Hotels property.
