We loved staying at The Prince of Wales Hotel. Our room was just perfect for us with great views. We were on the 5th floor but didn’t mind the steps to get there. We had a Royal Tea and ate in the dining room which was so good.

Wonderful experience staying in such a historic hotel. Although historic, the bathroom was recently renovated. The elevator is remarkable for being the oldest operating elevator in North America, meaning that you should probably take the stairs. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

The hotel has a commanding view of the Waterton area and the surrounding mountains. The building is historic and beautiful. Our room was a bit cramped, in keeping with the period in which the facility was constructed. We had a balcony that was shared with a few other rooms. The bellmen were quite helpful and courteous, while the desk staff were efficient, but a bit brusque. We splurged for the afternoon tea, which was a pleasant and enjoyable experience that I would recommend.

Great view as advertised, staff is great, but hotel is super dated. If there is a next time, we’d spend nights at a newer facility and just go to this hotel for the views and tea/coffee/food. Town is very small and hotel is easily accessible from anywhere in town.
