"Room and general areas clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint was room was a little cramped - one of the beds (two queens) was about 8 inches from the wall, making it difficult to get into that side of the bed."

"The Antietam Overlook Inn is a wonderful B&B perfectly situated on a hilltop in the Maryland Piedmont, just minutes away from Antietam Nat'l Battlefiield, Sharpsburg MD and Shepherdstown WV. The wilderness setting is stunning -- I saw more wildlife in one hour drinking my morning coffee than I saw in an entire day in Shenandoah Nat'l Park. The staff prepared a delicious communal breakfast for the 3 couples staying that night along with us. Great for pets -- they have a Frenchie, a farm cat...

"First room offered had powerful odours (pets?) and not acceptable. Alternative room was fine although all odd numbered rooms suffer road noise in morning rushour. Breakfast very nice for level of hotel."

"Oh. My. The WORST place I've ever stayed. All of this is true: 1. hair in the sink 2. balled up, filthy washcloths shoved into the AC unit 3. stains all over the walls 4. putrid cigarette smell 5. holes in the bathroom door 6. a live-in neighbor who banged on the wall and screamed the second I got in the room 7. a stinkbug infestation in the curtains and under the bedskirt 8. drunk live-in neighbors who chain-smoked I just left at 11:45pm and got another place. This place should be condemned."

"This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Walking into the hotel it smelled terrible. Upon checking in I was told the elevator wasn’t working. This was a big inconvenience since I was traveling with children and we had to carry all of our bags up. The room smelled like cat pee. I had to find a Walmart to purchase cleaning supplies. All the lamps didn’t work and it was only one outlet in the room .I would not recommend stay at this location!!!!!"

"The hotel has a great setting for a traveler with a pet. There is a lawn in front and behind the building to walk a dog. Everything else is just awful. A toilet bowl with rusted spots, a dump floor, barely working wi-fi, broken safe, broken locks at the entries of the building… whoa, it is a shame to run such a poorly maintained facility for &100 +l"

"Found 3 cockroaches in the room ! I have stayed at the red horse a number of times when visiting Frederick MD. But this time I woke up to find 3 cockroaches in the bathroom. The place is getting a little run down. The drapes had holes in them and the bathroom tile had cracks. The low flow shower and faucet aren't to good. The air conditioning works really good."
