"It's clear the owners are refurbishing this motel right off I-91 in Putney, VT. The bathrooms are freshly tiles, wooden floors replace wall to wall carpet, new lighting and thermo pane sliding doors. If you need a bed on a long drive, support these folks. Putney Food Coop is just up the road for great coffee and a wide choice of food."

"The continental breakfast was good - a variety of fresh baked goods, yogurts, fresh fruits, granola, teas, and the coffee was excellent! It would have been nice to enjoy a hot breakfast on the cold and gloomy morning that we were there, though. We enjoyed meeting our friendly host, Joe, and had a nice conversation with him as he explained the history of the property and some future kitchen renovations he has in the works. Parking was no problem - plenty of space, well-lit, felt absloutely...

"This property was definitely on the older side and could use some renos. All of the towels in my room were stained, and the kleenex boxes left empty. I don't think one single staff member greeted me during the 3 nights I stayed there. They just sat behind the desk or walked about but never said hello or even smiled. "

"If you love retro/vintage/history/ quiet and pet friendly this place is wonderful for a short stay and lowkey weekend. So many cool local businesses and delicious food. We went for a show at the stone church- walking distance from hotel! And everything we could have needed was easily accessible. They have a bar downstairs and a movie theatre in the hotel! All rooms have record players and vinyls to play with more available. Big rooms. “Dated” but it’s keeping with the retro style- very clean and...

"What a warm and welcoming place to stay. Beds and pillows were super comfortable, very clean room. Common areas were cozy and clean. You will never find a better breakfast than the 3 course meal we had. Local yogurt, homemade lemon curd, with homemade granola and berries. Then wonderfully cooked frittata with Crème fraîche, local sourdough toast, and a bed of nice greens and radishes. Then the most amazing citrus olive oil cake. There is coffee, tea and homemade cookies always available....
