booked room paid for room went to the island and there was no room available and there were no rooms anywhere on the island so had to sleep in a rental car.

5 days at D-Aqua

This place has a lot of potential. Unfortunately our trip started on "the wrong foot". There was a water outage which was quickly dealt with (pipe burst). But we were told the water was back on in our unit but when we arrived after running around the island for the day, it was still off. It did get resolved. I would say that for the price I paid, I was expecting good water pressure with hot water. I would call the water at best warm but did not get hot. Water pressure was less than expected. If you plan to stay here, bring a flash light since lighting is not good. They have 2 lamps on the sides of the bed but only one has an outlet next to it. There are few outlets. Kitchen is bare bones. Bring your own cutting board, bottle opener. only 2 pots and a couple of dishes and silverware. Water might not be potable. Plan to buy drinking water. Water smelled strange. Good things- bed was very comfortable, air conditioning worked great.

Not a living soul on the island had ever heard of Daqua. The directions take you to the wrong place. When we tried Fisher’s Cove we found out they refer to it as D’Aqua. Punctuation is everything. Although I’d been told a noon arrival was fine we were rudely told our room wasn’t ready because the refrigerator was being defrosted and it would be another hour. THREE HOURS LATER we came back, the staff at first ignored us, told us someone would be with us then unceremoniously told us the room still wasn’t ready. We left again & returned almost an hour later & luckily this time Angela stepped forward and advised me that the hotel couldn’t check us in BECAUSE IT WAS PRIVATELY OWNED. She at least walked me to the room because no one to this point had even told me where it was. The door had been unlocked the entire time & key left on the table. The surrounding property was rundown & what we thought was a pool was actually concrete PAINTED BLUE! The room was hot & almost everything was unplugged. The ac in the bedroom didn’t work. It’s not 2 bedroom, it’s one bedroom with a bed in the living area. The beds were horrible & I suspect were concrete painted to look like beds by the same person that painted in the pool. I’d have loved them to paint water coming out of the sinks & shower because we had almost none. Couldn’t even rinse off! Oven didn’t work so we couldn’t cook the food we bought and had to buy the worst pizza on the planet from the hotel. Cannot recommend this place
