"We had a really great stay at Highlands Resort at Verde Ridge overall. The location was perfect — close to Sedona, Cottonwood, and even an easy drive to Phoenix, which made it a great home base for exploring the area. "Booked two nights around busy weekend. Got a room on 2nd floor. - The ROOM - This room had really nasty carpet I've seen in a long time. Beds were acceptable. But the carpet was stained all over and looked like it has not been deep cleaned for ages. Just nasty!! Bathroom floor wasn't that clean either. KEEP UR SHOES ON!! The dude at night was cool, but the crazy lady in the morning gave me misleading info. Not helpful at all. Ice machine did not work.... We ate at the Mexican...

"The view from the room was not great for red rocks. The room itself was basic needs an upgrade for sure. It was clean on the surface but you can tell they do not pay attention to details. The stand with amenities was full of dust and the tissue box was empty. Staff was helpful, grounds were peaceful, pool was mediocre could also use some new furniture. There was no vibe at the pool. I would choose to stay somewhere else if I came back. For the money the place was disappointing."

"I really enjoyed coming to this hotel as it was very well needed for where we are at. The price is very good and I love the amenities. ***The only thing I would say is that the property needs to be a little cleaned up outside and also the carpet needs replaced maybe hard flooring so it doesn't get messed up.*** But other than that it was amazing."

"The power went out at around 1am and was out for 2 hours. It was very hot in the room without A/C which made falling back asleep challenging. It kinda ruined our morning hike because of the lack of sleep."

"Pool was too cold. Hot tub was too hot. Breakfast hours limited if you wanted to start a hike by sunrise or get to the trailhead parking lot before it was filled. Breakfast line was backed up because of the way it was organized. Plates were on one side but line started on the other side with the food. Pancake maker was first so it backed the line up."
