"Great place to stay! Very clean, hardwood floors that were clearly washed prior to my arrival. Loved the in suite fridge and microwave. The little fitness center was also excellent with brand new equipment and had all the necessities. 2 great coffee machines with various creamers. Complementary water downstairs that was fresh. A great little place to stay nearby the airport. I called the shuttle service as I de-boarded and they promptly met me to pick me up within 10 minutes of my arrival!...

"The Monterey Motel is an unexpected gem near Old Town. It resembles the original structure but has been carefully renovated to perfection and yet remains affordable! "The staff were very helpful when we decided to change hotels but I was shocked that the room rate jumped more than $50 a night. Then we were charged $7 a day to park in THEIR lot. When booked I saw no mention of this additional fee. When I contacted customer service they did graciously reverse the charge. The facility itself was very nice. My only complaint was financial."

"The sheets weren't cleaned properly and the hair from cleaning people or previous guest was still on the sheets. The shower drain was so clogged there was inches of water in tub that just sat. The air conditioner made an awful noise all night long. Usb chargers did not work and bedside lights dint work as well."

"This hotel is trying, but not exceptional as most reviews are on Expedia. As a reasonably down to earth traveler I was disappointed. I was considering this hotel and Arrive in ABQ. I wish I had chosen Arrive. The floors of our room were sticky, hair on porcelain toilet, dinged up tub, loose fixtures, and could see light under the exterior entrance. Bed was ok but sheets were not crisp and clean smelling. I’d pass this by if I could choose again. Not great."
