"The resort was above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast buffet was outstanding - especially the fresh pastries and the omelette bar manned by Heinz. The snorkeling right off shore was fabulous. If we ever are able to return to Moorea, we will definitely stay at the Sofitel Kia Ora again!"

"Location and beauty of the property is excellent. Food and beverage were way below Hilton standard. Property is in need of updating. Fabulous snorkeling."

"We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Fenua Maita'i'oa! The room was beautiful, very clean, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. We especially appreciated having Netflix and Amazon Prime available for relaxing in the evenings.
The location was also very convenient...close to a grocery store and easy to get around. The kitchenette setup was perfect with an egg maker, kettle for hot water, fridge, microwave, dishes, and silverware.

"Location was amazing. So peaceful, quiet, and serene. Viewed sunset from deck chairs of our room. Small facility so beach walks not crowded with lots of tourists. Room a little small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious - all so fresh. Secured parking on site. Only suggestion is to make guard gate electronic so aren’t required to get out of car to enter code. "

"Breakfast always healthy and tasty. Staff worked hard to accommodate our needs. Arnaud is superior to all in his concierge duties!
Privacy was unmatched. We wanted to take Tina home with us; she is a lovely addition to the property….we shall return 🙏"

"Flight to Tahiti from La lands at 5:30am, I rang the hotel a weeks before asking it it would be possible to have our room ready or a room we could use on our arrival as we would be travelling for 32 hours. They said they would try. We arrived no proviso s made for early arrivals on this flight, I had a terrible cold and cough and felt awful. We thought we could lie on a sunbed and catch up on sleep but the hotel is very noisy as it is right next to the airport, when we finally got a room there was a party, bands practicing for the nights gig, they love really loud music in Tahiti, techno music until 10:30pm, like it is in the room. They compt our food, we told them on our return night before our flight out we wanted a quiet room, they messaged us the day before letting us know miss Tahiti Gala would be on opposite the room they had given us, they changed rooms and were supposed to refund the difference in price when we checked out, they didn’t and don’t know if we have had the refund yet, Don’t come here thinking it is peaceful and quiet it isn’t!"
"Main deal is location. It’s right there by the airport…5 minute taxi ride. Bathrooms were clean and ok. Bed was comfortable. We needed a place to sleep before an early flight and this was perfect."
"We stayed in an overwater bungalow and the room itself was very pretty. The food option on property wasn’t great and the alcoholic drinks weren’t very good though. The staff was very nice and helpful. Definitely bring bug spray because the mosquitos are pretty bad on property by the restaurant. Overall the hotel was nice, the massage was really good, and the staff was nice. The lacking area is the food and drinks."
"Tired, outdated rooms that felt worn and poorly maintained. Unfortunately, the service was equally disappointing, with staff seeming uninterested and unhelpful throughout our stay."
"It was a fantastic stay very authentic for a Tahitian vacation, left us wanting for nothing.
Grounds & decor are exceptionally beautiful and the water is the equivalent of a private aquarium. Ten out of ten highly recommend!"
"The hotel is modern, very clean, and spacious. It has great air conditioning and a huge patio with a table and lounge chairs. I find the modern hotels a bit too minimalistic, with limited towel hangers, no drawers, etc. It is a small hotel, with 38 rooms or so; it was a bit crowded on the weekend, but really quiet during the week. I think the hotel lacked a "Polynesian" feel; it would benefit from adding some cultural touches instead of trying to be standardized. However, the staff was really helpful and offered assistance with everything. The kitchenette was very useful. It had a table top stove, an electric kettle, plates, utensils, one skillet, and one pot. Good to use for breakfast, as breakfast was not included in our price. The hotel has its own beach where you can dip in the water and snorkel among the corals. Even if you do not snorkel, you can see fish and other sea life from the bridge to the restaurant (we saw coral fish, octopuses, and sea urchins). The restaurant was on the expensive side, but it was not surprising; everywhere on Moorea, food is expensive, it is an island. We had some issues with hot water after a rainy day, as the hotel has a solar heating system. Just be aware of this. I really appreciated that the hotel participates in the coral restoration program. There were two people working to collect small coral pieces from the sea floor and "replanting" them. I find it very cool! We had a very nice stay."
"We love our stay here. It’s honestly the perfect place to stay in Moorea. The staff were so helpful and lovely. Also, it’s amazing that you can wake up and just jump to do some snorkeling. It was the best snorkeling in the entire island. We saw 3 big turtles, an octopus and so many pretty fish plus the water is so calm. Their pina colada’s were also amazing. We highly recommend this place."
"The room, called a bungalow, was very tiny, not even enough room for our luggage, which ended up on the floor of the bathroom. No drawers or places to put our things. The shower was unusable since it cycled from hot to cold, over and over and never kept a constant temperature. Had to wash using the sink! Limited parking. Owner was not available. Replacement staff was friendly, but not very knowledgeable. Would not stay there again."
