"Only thing that was bothersome was the attitude of desk clerk on check in - she couldn’t be bothered when I asked about getting a different room - curt short answer just not possible - I asked about room on first floor - my wife has mo bility issues - we ended up on 2nd floor but at end of hallway which was a distance "

We stayed here about 4 years ago when under different management and were given a full tour of this beautiful, historic home, and had the most delicious breakfast in one of the reception rooms, a table for two. So romantic! Well, new management has stopped serving breakfast and there’s none of the feel of enjoying the reception rooms to sit and read or talk or take in the atmosphere of the olden days. "Standard room for the price range. No frills but no major complaints either. For a free breakfast, I find it difficult to nitpick. The selection was diverse enough to allow most people to find a thing or two to enjoy. The single serve pancake machine was cool. I had never seen one before. Beds were comfy and clean. The shower / bathroom could use updating. If you're not staying in the hotel as your vacation, this place is perfect. It's in the middle of everything. You can't go a block without...

"The room and bathroom were clean. The shower was hot. They upgraded us to a city view room and the staff is extremely friendly! The pool is heated but not really, so, it was cold. They also only have valet parking which is another $30. The location is also good for downtown. "
