Awesome place to stay.

Our stay at the Happy Night Hotel was simply amazing. We had a delux room for 3 although there wereonly two of us. The owner of the 14 room hotel lives on site so has a handle on things. The breakfast was included in the price of the room and included fresh fruit eggs toast and buffalo curd with honey and was awesome, and they served a pot of tea or cocoffee. Awesome very close to beach and a beer store which was used. Enjoying a beer sitting on the veranda listening to rain was heavenly.It rained 3 times during our stay and I enjoyed every drop. I can't say one negative thing about The Happy Night Hotel or the staff. We were treated royally. 5 minute walk to the beach, and hotel is on a hill if you have mobility issues and quiet. When we were at the Happy Night we were the only tourists the other guests were all businessmen. We were the only Caucasians the entire 10 days there which was fine.

Very good experience

We had an amazing experience staying at this hotel. First off I would like to mention that the hotel is not 100% correctly placed on the map. It's actually even closer to the beach, which was a good surprise! And all Tuktuk drivers know this hotel when you ask to go there. Staff is really friendly and they also offer tuktuk rides for local prices. Cheap! No need for haggling. Breakfast is very good and huge, so your stomach will get full. I also used their laundry service and my clothes got back nicely folded and clean. Also very good price, was about 2400 rupi for a plastic bag of mixed clothes. To be honest, I chose this hotel because the price was good and I just wanted a base to sleep. But I'm very surprised by this hotel and their staff, and I wouldn't mind using it again if I'm back in Unawatuna.

This is a lovely quiet hotel, the staff were friendly and attentive and very helpful. Despite saying it has a pool, it does not, there is one next door you can use for 500r {about £2.50}. The breakfast was yummy and huge! The meals are reasonable price and they have a lovely restaurant and TV area.
