This hotel is a bit tired and in need of an upgrade. The carpet in the bedroom was dusty, the bed was a bit hard and the service was terrible. While the parking is free, you have to get your parking ticket validated at Reception - I had to go back a few times as this was not done correctly.
The hotel does not justify it's 4 star rating
The room was amazing. Spacious, with beautiful views and a huge bathroom. Absolutely loved the room. The service however was awful. The rude staff at the front desk, are just not helpful at all. The waiters at the breakfast area dont pay attention to when they needed. The host is even worse to approach. The breakfast also had no meat options for the omelet. If pork is not an option, atleast offer chicken
Got what we paid for. Negatives were not being aware of an additional tray charge which is added on to bill for in room service or the fact that our booking did not include the cost of parkimg which was pretty excessive. For these reasons alone will not be going back.
Hotel had no mask wearing mandate
People entering the lifts with No masks.
Smokers are allowed to smoke without any implications whatsoever. We had to have our room changed.
No security with entry. You could enter through the basement and go to any floor. What an absolute joke. At best, a 2 star experience.
Charged for parking, but entrance to the Hotel parking was open from Friday to Sunday.
My 6th trip here and my last. This made me not want to go out again.
the original room allocated, 805 there was a problem with the bedding cleanliness. however, this was rectified the same evening. the lady on duty 26/12/2021 @ 22:00 was extremely helpful and efficient. unfortunately i cannot remember her name, but she needs a pat on the back.
The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly according to me everything was good

Sink in one of the rooms was leaking and we found it disturbing that one of the managers was shouting at a elderly waiter in front of us. It was not a pleasant site to see and left us feeling uncomfortable

Was dissapointed in the housekeeping as underneath the bed was dirt from previous guest. Breakfast was not good but understandably COVID19 restrictions applied.
Dinner ordered grilled prawns via room service. Prawns where NOT fresh, No veg in savoury rice as described.
Overall a 5 outa 10 stay.
I felt like I was in a five star hotel, the friendliest staff ever, everything else was as amazing. They did not make their dining area feel awkward. They made sure that i don't miss the buffet. Everything felt like there was no pandemic, even though they adhering to the covid rules but they still made me feel safe and comfortable.
Went to coastlands for my honeymoon and had so many problems with the room. The room telephone wasnt even working for me to call reception and complain. Had to use my cell to call them and only to have the maintenance guy come and disturb me on my honeymoon night wanting to do maintenance at 11pm at night
very good, stay clear of the top floor as the functions are noisy. I was surprised to pay for parking at R60 p/day as it was included in our previous stay.

lie after lie from the management terrible
Booked 2 rooms requested inter connecting rooms 9 months prior. Was given an upgrade with an inter connecting room which was taken away in ten minutes to be told after seeing 2 other rooms which were not suitable that the booking did not show the request for an inter connecting room as they advised our initial room had been booked in the time they showed us the other rooms. Basically it was lie after lie form the general manager as the lady at reception gave us originally the inter con ting room and he advised this was not shown on the booking. My wife and I eventually had to sleep with 1 child each as they were only 6 and 8 after changing from different rooms for 2 hours .
We stayed for 9 night so it was important that we had all the comforts of home. Coastlands provides that and even more. The bed was comfortable. Staff was always pleasant. The breakfast range varied every day which made it enjoyable. The hotel is only a short walk to Gateway shopping mall and is located in a very safe area.
Facility is wonderful, have stayed there many times. Please do not use Hotels.com, they have a habit of confirming hotels, taking your money, then telling you the hotel is full, and do not refund you!

Usually a nice hotel, with excellent service. The rooms look a bit worn and tired. It is time to spruce up or upgrade the rooms. Lighting in the rooms could definitely be better.
