"It’s an old palace which they are trying to maintain. The best part is the location, on the banks of the holy Ganges. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the steps to walk down to the river as it was all under water. The room was small and was not worth the price. But the people and the services rendered were amazing. Food was good and nothing special. What makes it worth is the services of the staff."

"Really clean room & good shower with a functiong mixer tap unlike a lot of hotels in India. The housekeeping, reception, travel agency & food/beverage teams were all excellent. You could tell they were proud of working for the hotel. I would rate it as the best hotel in my 3 week stay in India."

"It’s not in the prettiest street but was only a few minutes walk to Assi Ghat. The room was clean and everything worked well. Great water pressure and hot water in the shower. I don’t really have any complaints."

"I went on a solo trip to Banaras and booked my stay at Gangotri. The hospitality truly surprised me. The owner and staff are very kind, helpful, and welcoming. I was really impressed with the facilities. The room was clean and hygiene was well maintained, which made me feel comfortable and safe as a solo traveler. Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Banaras — it’s totally worth it!"
