Location was ok but the rooms are very outdated as well as the hotel as a whole. Our room had a musty smell even after opening the balcony door and blasting the AC. Basically, you get what you pay for. It was clean and simply a place to sleep - however I would not book here again.

I had stayed here before on a number of occasions but if this has been my first experience I would not have returned. Very small, bare single room. The bed was the hardest I have ever experienced and the shower cubicle the smallest imaginable. There was black mould in the shower and the curtain so short that the bathroom floor got soaked. However, breakfast was good, the staff friendly and it is very convenient for the railway station - fine for a one night stay.

Wonderful balcony is star of show.

Beds were very flat and left a lot to be desired. The sheets however were a welcome refuge and were very soft and clean. The air conditioning worked wonderfully! The outlets in the room were not working and we had to use the one in the bathroom to charge everything. The hairdryer… stuck in the 80’s, however it did the job. Service is wonderful and the workers are very kind!

Pulizia tutt'altro che impeccabile, nonostante l'insistenza delle signore per entrare in stanza. Complimenti alla signora che si occupa della cucina, la colazione era davvero buona. Bene il servizio alla reception, escluso il portiere notturno: se una delle caratteristiche annunciate è "reception 24h", io mi aspetto di trovarlo.

It was close to the beach, staff very pleasant and breakfast was good. Hotel also has a dining room where you can go as an option. The food and service was very good. The room was good for the value and clean. Our stay was good.

Hotel Virgilio, Tropea

This hotel is well placed, between the train station and town centre, making it really convenient (also has garage parking, something that is a real bonus in Tropea) while only a couple of minutes walk to the start of the Main Street and shops. Staff are friendly are the breakfast adequate. My single room was a ‘genuine’ single, very compact, but with balcony and a wonderful view, something rare for a single!
