I never imagined I would enjoy a 6:00 am boat ride in the pouring rain on Rio Tortuguero, but since I was comfortably ensconced in my hotel provided poncho, I could fully appreciate the bounties of nature in all of its glory. The abundance of wildlife, skillfully pointed out by our wonderful hawk-eyes guide, Luis, truly made this a unique and special adventure....

"We really enjoyed our stay at Laguna lodge, the staff were amazing and the family pool was lovely, they also make great cocktails, with bars at both pools and also a lovely bar over looking the lagoon. The only negative for us was the restaurant, the food was ok but buffet cycled through two options over two nights, so was a bit repetitive if staying for more than two nights and not many options for a vegetarian, however there were many great dining options in the town, which is a 30 minute walk...

Cooper, Angie and Sophie and the rest of the staff were GREAT. They treated us so well; we felt taken care of and special! "

"We were upgraded to a bungalow which looked great and was extremely spacious. We felt like we were staying in the middle of the jungle. Pool area was lovely with loads of wildlife. Only downside was that the shower lacked any power."
